Smith has been extra weird today. Swear he's looked like he's trying to square and and start a fight with the ball after he's faced it a few times.
Looks pretty switched on tbh. Love a little knock like this cos you can use it to see why he averages so well in England on slightly slower decks than he does even elsewhere - he plays the ball so much later than anyone else and he doesn't commit forward as far so if he's in even half decent form he adjusts to the movement better than anyone else. It's a matter of fractions of a second but he has that little bit of extra time because he plays almost everything in line right under his nose. If he's defending to a seamer it usually takes a really great ball to get him out. It's just a method which is almost perfect for English conditions.
