Some nice dip, bounce and spin for Macewell here but that's not great batting. Really, given his inconsistency, you just need to sit on him and wait for the inevitable bad ball each over

Haven't been able to follow as much of this match as I'd like, but looks like SL have reverted to regular bad tourist status after they played their best NZ match in at least a decade at Hagley. Sounds like their seamers bowled too short on day 1, odd after their lengths were quite good at Hagley, and it's been downhill ever since.

And Nicholls double hundred, how bout that.

Never seen him before but Nishan has a wonderful FC record. Owes the team a lot of runs though, he should have taken Nicholls early.

Karu has been an absolute beast lately. Might be battling for an ATG SL spot if he keeps it up
karu’s had an interesting career in that there’s been now a few times he’s risen to being fringe top opener in the world but then a tour of australia or whatever comes along to knock him down again in people’s esteem - would love to now see him get really locked in as a top bat

Yeah he's got that vibe of a guy most countries would be happy to have in the XI but no one is racing to put him in the first few names on the team sheet.

Karu's interesting in that his overall record is good but the H/A gap is huge and he's struggled against the Big 3. Alas, big tons against the West Indies or whoever has the feel of "if a tree fell in the woods but no-one heard it".
