Where have all the Boult haters gone?
You're a very deluded chap. You think we all love Test match Boult but treat white ball Boult as a completely different entity that we despise?

You know the issue was he hadn't played any ODI cricket in the past 24 months. If he'd gone to UAE and done well, not a single person would've had an issue with him being picked.

Very much doubt anyone hates Trent Boult anywhere in the world, let alone NZ'ders.

I know I just posted a comment about the fact he bowled well today.

It is slightly ammusing however how quick you are to post the 'Boult-haters' comment, yet strangely you were nowhere to be seen in the domestic thread when old-man-river Millsey did a job on your ND mob the other day.

As someone else already said, some of us actually call a spade a spade, whether the spade is the one in our back garden or not.
Did Howsie give us his take on Lord Mills' effort, or is he is an ND-based vampire who can't see the 'haterz' when they exist in his own mirror?

I witness Ranchi smash 99 long time ago, yet his knock of 170 was somewhat special, no wonder why Rohit hammer Lanka during his Epic 264,no motivation and no planning from Lankan bowler that day or yesterday.only Dhoni still hold the wicket keepers record of 183 not out while Bat # 3 in one day game, although Luke broke his 139 not out record,Dhoni now not playing same as before, he should bat more freely and he fit good at # 4 presently.

If Elliott was not drop on 47 record stand of 267 was not established, Anyway McC and Marshal still # 1 , they put on 272 together in ODI ,@ record partnership in nz. Cricket.

This whole thing reminds me of that KFC ad from a couple of years ago, where Americans got up in arms yelling about how racist it was having taken things out of their respective ethnographic contexts and superimposing the American cultural narrative over the top.
Thats a little different, they are the KFC brand, they sponsor cricket and the team touring was the West Indies. The broadcast that was put out on Australian TV (and ads don't go worldwide) was totally clear. It was American media that took it out of context. It's fairly clear that the uproar wasn't from the cricket watching audience but rather the American one who digested the ad alone.

An internal joke that can be taken out of context on the intended broadcast, and a cultural narrative that can be implemented on an unintended broadcast are two entirely separate things.

Oh yeah, certainly, I'm just thinking in terms of people immediately jumping on the "IT'S RACIST" bandwagon before looking at the context. The guy on the video mentions giving people the benefit of the doubt (in spite of doing exactly the opposite by wholly ignoring the context), and it's pretty easy to see why one would be extremely willing to give Styris the benefit of the doubt here.

As someone who, strangely enough, wasn't aware of Ross's taste for KFC, upon reading that a Taylor/KFC comment had been made I was a bit perturbed. But then, having been made aware of the context, it becomes pretty bloody clear that Styris wasn't perpetuating a racist stereotype, rather making an in-joke based on his personal experience with Ross.

Not really convinced on Mcclenaghan. Thing is so far in his career he has managed to pick up wickets..very good almost shocking strike rate for someone who isnt really that great of a bowler.

It's pretty simple. McCleneghan is a very inconsistent bowler in both pace and release, so batsmen can never trust the bounce while facing him. This is why he gets so many seemingly lucky wickets; batsmen see a loose ball, but his natural variation means they fail to find the middle of the bat and scoop it to a fielder. It's the same as what Wagner does.

Like seriously if this was another tour the screams of conspiracy against poor little _____ _____ would break windows, and tbh Sri Lanka have every right to feel pissed about that and the Vettori decision.

Shocker granted, but Jayawardene needs to watch himself. 2nd time in a week he's got away with expletives for all to hear, and the other day it was in the umps face.

Whether that 3 meter rule one of Vettori's was out or not, it's the ICC who introduced that rule, not the umpires, so can't see how a conspiracy can be claimed for that.

Nah, the Vettori decision was just a result of the way the DRS rules are set up. They have no more reason to feel pissed about that than they do about an umpire's call lbw review.
