Often when watching Murali get LBWs, or appeal for them, when he's bowled a doosra, on first look it always seems to be sliding down leg (especially when the batsman is forward), but then on replay it is absolutely plumb - similar to Warne and his slider which often holds its line.

I'd bring in Zoysa instead of Maharoof.
Is Zoysa going to take a load of wickets? Maybe, but I wouldn't count on it. It'll be a one-man wrecking crew again and we all know who that is. SL should focus on strengthening their batting lineup as much as possible. Murali is huge. Vaas is a proven performer so he has to play. You need two more bowlers and Malinga has pace and a surprise element. Coming down to Maharoof and Zoysa for the final spot ... Maharoof is a better batsman so he gets the nod.

You've already sacrificed one bowler to help your batting line-up. If Zoysa's going to contribute more than Maharoof with the ball, then you should pick him - otherwise you've compromised your bowling to a point where you can't win a Test match without a declaration. Murali has to be given support, and when you consider that Malinga is very much a bowler who has short spells, you need consistent and reliable back up.

Considering England play pace better than spin, I think Jayasuriya and Dilshan are pretty reliable options for support. It's not like they'd be going in with only 3 specialist bowlers or something, they still have 4 specialists (2 of which can bat in Maharoof & Vaas) and 2 part-timers.

rain's been pelting the country for the last week - so it'll seam around, and yes, Vandort will get nothing.

Expect Vandort to continue making runs and building on his reputation as one of the world's leading batsmen. He doesn't have a Test average of 65 for nothing, you know.
Someone's had a reality check!

Tharanga in side at the toss, Jayasuriya in at seven according to Sky. Good move to let the openers settle in together.

Lewis in for Mahmood. Not too sure on this one - what good is Lewis going to be in Australia?

Pedro Delgado

International Debutant
Sri Lanks batting which should mean I get to see Murali bowling and KPP batting tomorrow, unless we roll them over again and KPP is out cheaply the neet.

No suprise there well done Lewis, he could be one of those sorts that plays one or two tests and comes away with great figures. I dont rate Mahmood but it does seem a strange decison to drop him now, still from early signs it sounds like Lews is going to make the most of it.

Didn't Saggers also clean bowl someone in his first over a couple of years ago? FWIW.
