They were only meant to finish Monday... nobody would have guessed that both matches would end within 3 days, with those batting line-ups!

So Duckett's been brought in to replace Bairstow. Is that because Brooks is already in the squad, or is this just a very odd decision?

Firdose has intel on the SA manoeuvring: "Harmer did some bowling on the practice pitch... and it looks like Wiaan Mulder is marking a run up! Jansen also marking a run up, Keshav the same." Drama upon intrigue. Mulder, of course, wasn't in the squad until Rassie van der Dussen bust a finger at Old Trafford - though he has been in good nick with bat and ball for Leicestershire this summer

Yeah this feels like it could be very much be a "the winner is the team that wins the toss and bowls first"... these batting lineups present no confidence.
The forecast for the rest of the test doesn't look much better for batting, so the toss shouldn't be decisive unless whichever team falls behind in the game gives up quite quickly.

Zondo, Jansen and Mulder all in alongside Rickelton. Ngidi the only surprise missing out due to fitness reasons

Oh my god! SA team selection is exactly what I hoped for based on squad... tough on Ngidi but much better balanced. And Markram given many chances so hopefully Zondo can do something good with this opportunity.
