Think it'll be a good, hard scrap between SA and Eng. Eng probably going to be over-reliant on Anderson, Broad, Root, and Stokes, if one of them doesn't fire could be trouble for England.

I`ve heard Bairstow has been playing pretty good recently...
But I can't see SA batting putting up enough to be truly competitive this series. I think Elgar and Petersen will have to score lots of runs. Maybe VDD.

Yes it's stupid. Even if they think this is the guy, it's counterproductive to keep picking him at this point. His confidence must be non existent. His game which had weaknesses at the best of times is in a terrible state. Just drop him and let him find some confidence and work on his game.

If Kent, who are crap, were genuinely picking their side on merit, Crawley would not make it in.
DBD, Compton, Denly, Leaning, Billings, Stevens, Cox and Robinson would all score more runs than Crawley, probably Linde too. Heck, every Nathan Gilchrist would give him a run for his money.
