Partly, though his seam position these days is better than it used to be, when you really did want to keep him away from the new ball.

... and CDG does get the new ball to swing, but he's making the batsman play only about 50% of the time, which is rubbish at his pace.
the other 50% is short and wide outside off, being slapped to the boundary.

Serious garbage from CDG that over. Williamson does seem to have a tendency to give a bowler one or two more overs in a spell than he should.

FYI if you haven't followed the match til now, the selection of De Grandhomme as a bowler is an awful joke. Should have picked an actual bowler like Matt Henry.
yeah i've seen a fair bit of new zealands home season and he seems a perfectly fine horses for courses selection. the problem is that your selectors haven't brutally cut him off as required.

Oh man, that's such a soft wicket. Was just thinking that it's already looking pretty easy to bat out there.

Is Wagner falling away a bit in his action? Less upright in his action and pushing the ball across the RH batsman.

Must be just this unfamiliar bowling-full thing that's doing it.

Problem is we have the fours wickets but only one of them was one of SA's big guns (Elgar), which still leaves all of Du Plessis, Amla & De Kock to get through.

Ugh why bring back CDG, there's less swing and nibble around now and should try Patel, or even Neesham.

(Edit: And then CDG nibbles the first one, let's see if he can do that and make the batsman play)
