Black clinched a place in the final for the Chef de Groot Trophy with a legendary chase of 306 in front of an elated home crowd. In a top-of-the-table clash with seven players out on international duty, the Blue bowlers were insipid, Despite Peter Young's second one-day century,
Nath Patrick opened with early strikes, producing gems which were too pure for Bowen and de Silva to keep out. However, Pete Young and Liam Camps batted with assurance together, with Young continuing an excellent season with a run-a-ball century. Camps struggled more to get the ball off the square, and precipitated the fall when lashing out to Burge for 89; yet Peter Young pushed forward to an unbeaten 140 and the total to 305 for six.
Black were unfazed, however, taking full advantage of the field restrictions to keep well within the required rate of six an over. With both batsmen recording fifties before the end of the powerplays, Cricket Web Black had scored 124 after the first twenty overs, and Blue looked unlikely to take any wickets. Sudeep Popat was brought on late, however, and fought back with two wickets in an over to dismiss rookies Ritchie and Burge. Two more wickets with seven overs remaining sent the required rate to eight an over, but Andrew Cloete brought experience to the chase, and Blake Donald hit out successfully - seven fours, including four off Camps in the 48th over, ended the game.

Cricket Web Green hooked up with the chase for the second finals spot as they trumped the Colts for a bonus point victory in front of a decent crowd in Edfield. Green have the second best net run rate and the highest amount of bonus points, yet lie fourth due to most of their wins being blowouts.
Today the bowlers stood up in the absence of Xavier Rose. Defending a total of 244 after sluggish early batting and a failure to accelerate - Callum Dinnen ended with an excruciating 25-ball nine - the Colts looked to be struggling early on, but Jack McNamara broke through Das' defences after being given the ball as early as the eleventh over, then ripped out Dylan Cole for a gruelling three. The Colts never got going against the spin on a slow wicket, with McNamara and Corrin sharing six wickets, and Josh Forner ended the fight by bowling Kyle Wright for 6.
Green had been convincing earlier, except for the final ten overs, where they gritted out 29 runs after some fine death bowling from Nathan Spinks and Kyle Wright. Myles Hutchinson took four wickets with accurate bowling, though Malone and Mamesh dominated the middle overs with a stand of 102.

Thomas Odoyo sunk Cricket Web Red's one-day hopes with a blistering 57 to help accomplish a stunning chase of 280. The Masters had looked out of it but completed the perfect chase to take all the limelight out of Matt Luff and Rob Dauth's excellent innings earlier on.
Luff and Dauth had been brought together after Robertson had been caught at slip in one of the earliest overs, and batted untroubled together until the 30th over. However, there were signs that they had struggled to accelerate, and though Rob Dauth got some of that off his back towards the end of the innings, thirteen boundaries in the 50-over game seemed too little.
So it proved. The new ball spell was fruitless, and though stand-in captain Bennett delayed the powerplays and then used himself in them, Red failed to take wickets. The run rate was always a problem for the Masters, however, and with ten overs remaining they required 103 with six wickets in hand. Shortly after, Brian Lara was held by Matt Luff, which brought Odoyo and Klusener together - now with more than twelve an over required.
Yet, Red failed dismally. Threes flooded the scoreboard, with Odoyo rampant - he hit eight fours and two sixes in a brief appearance enough for the Man of the Match award - and the rate, instead of the expected spiralling, sunk to managable levels. Twenty came off West's final over, leaving David Kennett to bowl at Klusener - he took three off the first ball, leaving Odoyo on strike, and after he was rapped on the pads twice to vociferous appeals, he scrambled the required single and won the game in dramatic fashion.
