Didn't the French illegally chase down the kick too?
Only just saw that, the French player advancing when the ball fell over and being told "It's a Penalty so you can't charge" - should have been a retake, even if he retreated when the actual kick happened.

Acknowledging the game is dead in Aus and only watched/considered by those with 15 surnames and a cutlery draw up their proverbial, the Reds and Waratahs Games I've caught this year have been pretty damn good.

Edmed for the Tahs looks assured and like he knows how to run a backline, shame he shanked the kick to win it on Friday.
Lynagh for the Reds also looks assured and confident.

Probably still transfers into a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of the Lions next year, but some small positive glimmers are showing.

Less said about Rebels the better.

Full credit to Italy, should be 2 wins now (should of been given a retake v France).

Hard pressed kicking them out now.

That first 5 mins in the 2nd half was so Scotland.

Needless infringement to deny the try and then immediately concede. Tipped the momentum completely Italy's way.

Why would you kick the ball away with 90 seconds to go?
Madness, especially as it was only fifteen yards upfield.

Best win for England under Borthwick and probably they best overall test match involving his team. Been a good tournament this one so far.

Probably because inside your own 22 is not the best place to play out time. Fantastic match though and I thought England just about deserved it. Not sure where that performance came from but it was several levels higher than anything they’ve done so far in this tournament.

Once again, no team has achieved back to back slams.

Having the ball in your own 22 is surely more preferable to giving the opposition a lineout on halfway and putting pressure on your defence to not concede penalties?

Although if any team would fancy holding out and securing a turnover it'd probably be Ireland. Still, I think they could've run the clock down further.

If they take the ball into a few more rucks they only need to avoid mistakes for 90 seconds. By giving England the ball they have to avoid mistakes until England make one. It gives up control of the clock, we could easily be facing 50 phases of attack. Plus England train drop goals, so even letting them into our 22 could be enough to cost us the game.
