Yeah, I'm not seeing a plan with West Indies lineups at the moment. It's like they try so many things and change it up based on which side of the bed the selectors wake up on every morning.

That is actually my biggest worry at the moment. Sammy is making some decisions that are making it harder for us to win.

We have 5 first choice players injured at the moment, so I get that we are having to try things, but Carty was a wasted slot.

Also Chase coming in when 80 odd is need off 40 with Holder, Shepherd and Motie still to bat and then basically wasting 14 deliveries. These are management decisions that are illogical.

WI stats since last T20 wc:

That makes Shai Hope (c), Akeal Hosein, Jason Holder, Romario Shepherd as sureshot starters. Players who have looked good/decent in recent times - Hetmyer, Shamar, Athanaze (?), Powell, Even Lewis. Jewell, Blades for potential.

Sherfane & Chase keep getting picked but their stats have been piss poor. Charles hopefully will be dropped forever.

What could the ideal West Indies XI look like?

There's also something slightly off with the batting order, although I can't exactly place it since I don't know the players well. Probably it is the number 3/4 slots.

I feel like I've seen instances where the openers are well set and batting well, but when they lose a wicket, the next player(s) in isn't quite right for the situation. They end up losing a whole lot of wickets and not making most of what was initially a good situation.

Sri Lanka are a bit like that as well - we're good with Nissanka and Mendis opening in T20s, but it doesn't always seem to click after that. We fixed it up with Mendisx2 at 3 and 4 in ODIs and that's worked much better for us in that format.

I really don’t understand why Chase gets to bowl more overs than our first choice spinner. He’s really crap in the format. Last night he bowled a few full tosses but the Pakistani batsmen didn’t capitalized…

Where do we go next in this format? CPL starts in a few days. Maybe someone is brave enough to impress Coach Sammy. Chase and Charles need to go. Jewel needs to stay. Shamar is an asset to all our teams. Jason Holder is hitting another peak. Let’s make it works guys.

For me it's... (second choice in brackets)

Evin Lewis (Alick Athanaze)
Shai Hope (Jewel Andrew)
Sherfane Rutherford (Kyle Mayers)
Rovman Powell (Jewel Andrew)
Shimron Hetmeyer (Kyle Mayers)
Romario Shepherd (Mathew Forde)
Jason Holder (Matthew Forde)
Gudakesh Motie (Roston Chase)
Akheil Hossein (Roston Chase)
Alzarri Joseph (Shamar Joseph)
Jediah Blades (young leg spinner or Nathan Edward)

Shai Hope has God like stats opening the batting in ODIs and T20s and yet we keep making him bat in the middle to accommodate players that simply aren't as good as him.

I'll be looking for the following in CPL:

- A dominant number 3
- An off spinner better than Chase
- A leg spinner
- Left arm seamers
- Death bowlers of any variety

I agree. They last two series have been strange, like Sammy has either lost the plot or is trying to be too clever.

If he is data led, than why on earth doesn't Shai open?

If he us data led, then why bring in Chase evo is a terrible finisher and bow has the ignimony of being retired out twice in his T20 career for ruining the momentum during chases.

Has SL tried that 3 and 4 combo in T20s as well? Ironically our ODI middle order is pretty stacked, we just haven't replicated that recently in T20s.
