**Official** Pakistan and England in the UAE 2015/16

Yeah England are literally just bowling straight on a back of a length and Pakistan are taking on fielders for some reason.

I think Pakistan are probably just inept (well actually I have no idea) but they certainly go out of their way to make the game look fixed with performances like this.

Well it's a combination of a few things. Of course the lack of ability and skill level for ODI is of course at the top of the list. But even with the resources available, they are not necessarily utilised properly due to poor thinking or lack of awareness of each player's ability or skill set.

Sarfraz is not a number 4. You can use him at number 4 if the second wicket falls around 35th over or more. But he is not a number 4 if you need him to build the innings. He is always one rash shot away from finding the fielders.

Malik is at the best form of his life, he should have been batting at 3 or 4 to have the maximum overs available to him. He is one of the few ones along with Hafeez who can attack and maintain a certain run rate.

Rizwan, Sarfraz and Bilal/Anwar/Imad should be the 5,6,7, the lower middle order that ideally bats from 35 overs onwards.

iftikhar is a top order batsman, batting after these guys. They have just have idea who to place where and how to use them.

Azhar Ali was enjoying some ODI form after becoming captain which he has now lost after the breaks due to injury and personal affairs.

Farcical this, they are not fixing, you wouldn't make it so bloody obvious ffs.

For me, its just they are just a poor ODI side, beating up Zimbabwe and pipping a mediocre Sri Lanka side did not mean they had turned into a decent ODI side overnight.

A 2-2 against a resurgent England even in UAE would have been considered by many a good result for Pakistan pre series.

No it didn't, They did play well in Sri Lanka and were lucky in a few key moments, plus they had their backs against the wall with the CT qualification.. The 5th ODI in Sri Lanka was a more accurate reflection of where this team stands.

Another key factor is Azhar's form. He was enjoying excellent form as he was trying to prove his ODI credentials, then took a break and that broke the momentum. Hasn't look the same player since.

Vaughan hinting of Pak fixing on his Twitter account.

Why do people always find it difficult to understand that they are actually this bad in ODIs?

Vaughan should be ignored. He is a professional idiot these days.

I do believe that fixing does happen in international cricket, but Pakistan have been collapsing like this for ages because they are not a great ODI side.

To be fair England did have a similar collapse in the first ODI as well:ph34r:

meh you are going to have to live with it for what Asif, Butt and Amir did so recently- and how rampant it appeared to be from the transcripts of the trials and newspaper undercover story.

Just like in Athletics and Cycling with drugs (and likely to come with other sports in time) everything will be questioned and no-one will trust anything completely.

That's one of the reasons why I felt it strange that Pakistan fans were so forgiving of them. Rightly or wrongly everything will be questioned for a while about Pakistan cricket as a result of that scandal . This generation will be condemned by having any loss or poor performance looked at closely as potentially a fix.
