And Aussies get Styris before lunch....4/42 now.

McGrath/Gillespie must have put a dent in the confidence.....

And the headline and picture on Cricinfo is classic.

Whew.... Unless McMillan got some bat on that (and I don't think he did), Warne just had him absolutely plumb. Dar's pretty hard to budge on those LBW's - he did give one out before the break at least, although that was made easy for him by Styris' refusal to offer a shot.

It's all action here - Kasper just had Astle dropped by Clarke, but had him caught in slips the following ball. 5/44, and the match is quickly drawing to a close.

And Steve Bucknor issues another memo to the ICC reminding them to remove him from the International Panel.

Kee-rist, McCullum didn't get anywhere near that one!

Doesn't really matter now, but McCullum was so far from nicking that one, how could that have been given out?

He walked without any complaint though somehow...don't think I would have if it had been me!

OK. Looks like this might be done in less than 4 days. NZ are 69/7 - wonder if Fleming will take a page from Ponting's book and complain about the pitch - after all how can NZ be 69/7 and put in such a dismal performance after their stirring 1st innings batting ? The pitch must surely have crumbled - another sub-standard pitch suited to the hosts. And on and on....Let's hear it ! :) :p

I don't think Fleming should have any excuses, NZ have played really shocking cricket since tea yesterday, that's all we have to blame really. Quite sad, we were really competing well until 24 hours ago.

I think comparing a pitch on which the two first innings scores were 353 and 585 to one that teams struggled to get 200 (and which set records for the amount of wickets in one day's play) on would be a stupid comparison. As much as comparing 4 days play to 2 days play would be.

But your mileage may vary.

Bucknor just got another one wrong, this time he didn't give McMillan out.

And now Gilly and McMillan are having some words.

WARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRNIE

McMilan is a *****. He should've just shut up since he got away with a blantant inside edge.
When has that stopped aussie players from arguing ? :p

I thought Gilchrist was a bit harsh to give McMillan a talking to about not walking after seeing the replay (don't think McMillan would have been stupid enough to start the conversation, "Lucky I didn't walk huh?" don't think so...), considering he would have seen the replay of McCullum missing the ball by miles and since McCullum is IMO a better batsman than McMillan, and considering how impressively McCullum behaved when given that decision, Gilchrist could have let it go as evening it up, and also since Langer didn't walk for an edge as obvious as McMillan's.

All over now, well done Australia. What a terrible display of batting & bowling by NZ in the last 24 hours though.
