***Official*** New Zealand Domestic Season 2016/17

Credit to Seifert there though, Howsie's always rated his nimbleness and strong bottom-handed hockey swipes against slow bowlers quite a bit, blooper reel against Tastle and Jeets aside.

ND player takes his chance, Wellington player feels stars weren't quite aligned and had rotten luck, yearns for a do-over. We often go down this road.

In 2017/18, I'll be predominantly eating boerewors in the neat and tidy garden that is SeamUp's SA domestic thread, btw. Direct all lower level New Zealand cricket enquiries to Howsie, David Dunning or Justin Kruger.

And yet here we are, same ground, India A rollicking along towards 400 at 4.4 an over.
Yup point taken but I did say it wasn't going to be easy. If top international cricketers find it hard enough to win a test match in India what chances our As got when they barely ply their trade in sub continent? Still quite disappointing we have failed with both the bat and the ball in both the games. 50s have been hard to come by. Does it also mean our spin backup is non-existent barring Ish Sodhi?

:/

Oh Kippax, are you Ken Rutherfording us?

Yep, until all the classier New Zealanders come home and help us end David White's reign, it's no place for a devout little cricketing heart, that's for sure.

Raval deserves an apology from me if he gets a century today though. It wasn't long ago I was liking Gnkse posts about him looking like complete trash against spin, and I for one thought he'd have a terrible tour here. Once again that guy is grinding it out and outperforming.

Nicholls showing his test career patterns here .... nothing, zilch, nada then big.

Raval, Nicholls, Munro, Seifert sort of provided positives with the bat so far.

Currently Tauranga is at one of our prestigious schoolboy cricket festivals in Pietermaritzburg called the Michaelmas Week. It has mainly been Westlake in recent years. They tour Cape Town after.

:shy:

Stay classy with the bat in unfamiliar environments, New Zealand youngsters.

Ferguson and Kuggeleijn trying to bounce out Prithvi Shaw on Friday would've been quite fun to watch. Australia's current tour of India seems to have meant Star Sports aren't going to show it this time though.

He'll find a way to score don't worry about that. This is the lad that's scored big at every big opportunity he's got. He scores 100s for fun. India had added another under 19 player with no experience at first class cricket. They're almost saying they don't have to play their second best xi to beat NZ A. They really aren't taking the NZ A side all that seriously or these kids are super talented. These are 17 year Olds. Who's the youngest from our NZ A setup?

Easily Glenn Phillips, then up to Seifert at 22.

Shubman Gill is now injured and out of all five ODs coming up. In this video below, Shaw makes 48 (starts 8:30 in), Gill comes in for a short knock at 11:30.

Yeah still pretty common for a whole number of countries to use A tours to float a Richard Sherlock, Unmukt Chand, Nuwan Pradeep sort of speculator up into the air though, see if it hits.

Solia (hamstring) replaced by CdG, who'll take a few days to get there.

Clarkson was a batsman only in a Hawke's Bay T20 invitational event last weekend. Not that Larsen was ever too likely to dial up the youth and novelty to replace the loss of Solia.

Cheers mate... couple of good players on both sides. Pretty aggressive players these lads aren't they?

Oh even with all the talent he's got to call on, Shaw doesn't mind seeing off his first 30 balls and being on about 10*, also openly frets about his milestones. He'd be copping Blocky-on-Guptill style sledging from New Zealand's best schoolboy bats.

The preview of the Dunedin club cricket season out today mentions Joe Austin-Smellie is back into it.

Interesting move, considering there's been a lack of a back-up keeping option for DdB for the last few years. Max Chu is probably the young kid they're looking at currently, but he's still at school so might be a while away yet.
