***Official*** New Zealand Domestic Season 2016/17

Just watched these.
A) most of them were **** batting
B) Nuttall has transformed himself from kid with a smooth action and nice swing, to guy with no swing but a jerky action who behaves like a jerk when he takes a wicket
Wow, not just me who noticed what a **** head Nuttall was acting after he took his wickets. Also gone from a guy who apparently didn't care about cricket at all, to one that feels the need to get so fired up he sends off batsmen and actually alters his path to do so.

Rob Nicol, I said it last year (and was proven slightly wrong) and I'll say it again - he won't score runs this year. Looks awful. Appears he's picking the ball up so, so late.

Yes I wish he would retire. I can't even remember the last time he scored a century in any form of the game.

Nah, it's NZ Cricket selection policies - despite DeG being a far better prototype for Limited Overs cricket, they'll convince themselves that he's now a test player only because he did well with the ball in one test.

How long did it take Latham and Williamson to break that, Watling still hasn't.
Latham was given an extended opportunity opening the batting after one of Ryder's **** ups, and he failed to take the opportunity. Despite that, IIRC he still made the world cup squad as back up opener and keeper.

He's definitely improved though.

Pienaar's early press onto the front foot was pretty smart and ideal for the surface he was on today, but it bring about a couple of top-edged pull shots. Could be a Chad Bowes-style preference for the overpitched stuff rather than the short stuff, once Wellington starts picking him.

Wellington Firebirds sign Australian import Evan Gulbis for Twenty20 competition;

FFS, and they wonder why they can't develop any home grown talent. Signing mediocre Aussie players won't help them win this comp either. They signed a couple shockers a few years ago, I can't even remember their names.

Who are the imports for the 6 teams in Super Smash starting this weekend ? Defending champs Auckland could struggle given NZ selectors recent acquisition of Aucklands domestic players .

Thanks Kippax. Auckland alone has lost 3 Domestic players C de G, Raval and Ferguson to NZ Test/ ODI selection in November 2016 but none have an NZC 2016/2017 central contract awarded to 21 players by NZC in June 2016. Interesting .

NZC should have the right to veto overseas signings. I don't know the bloke, but signing a guy who averages 19 with the bat and 40 with the ball at an RPO of 8.44 is shitting on any premise of our T20 comp being a chance for domestic talent to show its wares. This from the province who gave you Deepak Joon.

The others are all quality signings. If you're only able to sign Evan Gulbis, a) your scouting/general management sucks b) your talent ID and development sucks. Tick, tick for Wellington. Not forgetting they used Craig Cachopa as an O/S player last year and he avged 12 at less than a run a ball.

Henry Walsh would pissed, he'll probably block that middle order/bowl a couple overs role. I think he's moved down south for Lincoln though, which probably pissed off Wellington Cricket. Playing club cricket though, so fair game..

Hard to say when you don't know the politics of that situation obviously...so if Gulbis isn't holding anyone back, it's still a horse **** signing - Auckland got Tymal Mills, surely SURELY there is a better all-rounder in the UK who's keen for a go? Even at a cut price, which I presume is the premise of Gulbis being signed?
