I'm not taking it as a given, I said I was guessing. There are plenty of banned substances which help mainly in muscle recovery which primarily allows players to practice and train more strenuously with a lower risk of injury. I think those would be particularly useful in a sport like the NBA. NBA has an extremely lax drug policy and multiple past players and managers have hinted that players take PEDs.
sure you used the word guess and i may have misinterpreted it but based on your last two posts, the only thing you seemed to be guessing about was whether they take it throughout the season or specifically during the playoffs...anyhow i wasn't trying to argue the point, was just surprised at the way you phrased it because i have seen a lot of speculation but no overarching scandals or compelling evidence to show there is widespread use of PEDs in the NBA...

I didn't mean any negative connotations to my question which was why I didn't feel it was an accusation. It's a team sport with a gruelling schedule, lax drug testing policy and extremely high paying contracts. I'm not an expert but I understand that the effects of careful and moderated recovery cycles with the assistance of medical specialists probably will not significantly negatively affect the lives of these athletes after their careers. There are types of drugs that you can apply in the NBA to immediately play if you have an external injury which would otherwise be classified as a banned PED so the rules are quite hazy.

19 year olds are almost expected to perform through various types of low/mid level injuries under immense financial and social pressure in a culture where icons of the sport like Kobe brag about training for 6 hours a day with hardly a rest day which is already extremely unlikely to be sustainable naturally even without the travel and the games. I'm not going to judge a guy if he takes a cycle of drugs to help with the inhuman load on the body, possibility of injury from training and having to play through severe pain and fatigue while balancing such a publicly visible career.

I also feel it's much less harmful to the sport for an athlete to work around the tests in NBA than doping in MMA or track and field

Extreme **** show from both teams in the first half. Dallas only 9 down despite shooting 26% less FG.

Warriors have been fine. They always turn it over like crazy, it's a by product of how their offense works. They've done a pretty great job keeping doncic from getting to the rim easily for the most part.
Warriors 3P game from the big 2 was not able to go at all in the first half at all and they spewed a bunch of free throws. Dallas was 4 behind with 3-4 min to go in the first half despite being atrocious. But yeah, GSW was still much better in the first half and killed in the second.

Also **** those random offensive foul ref calls man. Refs are also allowing a ton more contact in the paint from GSW than what I've seen in the last 2 Dallas series. The contact on Luka would have collected at least 3-4 more fouls if the officiating was like the last series.

Wolves are offering Connelly $10m and ownership stake to become their GM. He can't make a trade to save his life but is a great drafter and hires the right people re: coaching and development. Maybe that's what the Wolves want?

**** it, The Kroenkes are great at exec hires, we'll get someone good in for sure.

Celtics look the best of the remaining teams by a not huge but significant margin.

Bit of a shame the playoffs have had so many blowouts this year even though it's been entertaining.

Would rather Miami win than any of the others tbh. Pretty conflicted on the mavs, the team is itself is likeable enough but the thought of watching Cuban and kidd win disgusts me a bit.

I for one am really impressed with the Jason Kidd's coaching of the Mavs. Didn't see it coming after all the drama he had in Milwaukee and Brooklyn. Golden State might be a bridge too far though

Off course I want Boston to go all the way.

i really like spoelstra and the younger set on the heat like herro and adebayo...but as much as i admire butler's quality, his grit, i just can't bring myself to root for him, not sure why that is...when it was wade's team, i loved 'em...not so much anymore...

Mavs are such a fun team to watch with how they create a variance fest every game due to their catch and shoot 3P strategy which is excellently set up by Luka. I didn't have a side going into watching NBA these playoffs but wake up at 6-7 am for their games now.

Celtics seem like the Suns pre-implosion, too good of an all round team to rally behind. GSW are obviously a boringly dominant team. They seemed like they were taking it easy today and then their B-team reduces a 29 point lead to 8 in less than 5 minutes. Such an OP team. Miami is the team I most want to win outside of some miracle comeback from 3-0 for the Mavs which has never happened before in NBA history.

Haha, I actually want Miami to lose for many other reasons. Butler is the only reason I would want them to win.

not saying it's logical...there are some other players i don't root for because i think they are just overrated but butler if anything is underrated and i recognize that...
