Big issues for Australia. Nonexistent middle order a lack of depth in bowling.

India continue their run as heavy favourites.

Rahul accidentally hit that for six. He ment to Chip it over infield for a boundary, the timing surprised him too!

Props to Ozzies for punching above their weight. But they have got a lot of self-reflection to do. They would finish between Ban and Net if Starc and Hazlewood are the only WC level players in their team.

From an indian POV I think Australia taking that kohli catch early would have been good for them. We knew coming in that rahul and kohli could make runs in their positions. The one hole in their team, if you can call it that, is the 6 and down. Jadeja and hardik are good on paper but both are a bit short of runs in this format.
For India ideally they won’t want to be in that position especially come semi final time if they make it. That’s been their downfall in a lot of the icc tournaments. Think Rahul and Kohli getting massive runs em under pressure early in the tournament is massive for them..

Do you drop carey for inglis after today or is it too early to make a call like that?
I know it sounds crazy given Carey looks shot but I still think he'd do well against any type of quality bowling compared to Inglis. Not because Carey is fantastic or anything but Inglis looked absolutely clueless in any trying conditions whenever I see him bat

Think they had to go with Inglis to start this game. His a way more destructive batsmen than Carey. We need someone that can get us lower order runs more consistently and Carey has been a liability with his batting the past year. You compare Aus with the other countries and their wicket keeper batsmen and they are some of the best players for those teams. You have the likes of Rahul, Butler, Rizwan etc I don’t think there is much room for specialists keepers in short formats anymore

Inglis is a way better player of spin than carey. His issues in ODI have more been facing quality seam bowling early on.

Nah Careys a big liability at 6 we need someone who can have a 5 over burst and score a quick 30-40 runs every now and then. Carey just seems to chew up balls then get out cheaply.

I don't know man he looks pretty awful whenever I watched him

Carey sort of did okay in Pakistan and Sri Lanka before falling off a cliff

Does Pat Cummins get in the XI cause of his piercing eyes, luscious wavy hair and winning smile?

Deadset bog average white ball bowler. And has been for many years

his had good big bash performances the last few years think he just needs a longer run in the Australian team.

Well played India, definitely looking firm favourites for this cup.

Smith is far more worrying for you. Always plays 50 ball 40 since 2019 and then gets out. Just like Misbah of the 2010s. Puts unnecessary pressure on the team.

Not an Aus supporter tbh. Just don't get this fascination with Cummins in ODI's. He's played plenty of it and has never really adapted or looked comfortable in his role
Abbott/Ellis would have been better selections tbh. Even someone like a Riley Meredith would have more impact. Sure, he might get carted around, but he can take poles quickly

Sort of parallel with Buttler in tests. Just looks like the wrong format for him
