*Official* Match #4- South Africa vs Sri Lanka- Delhi (D/N)- October 7th

Asalanka reminds me a lot of Lara with some of the shots he plays and also because he plays with a lot of batsmen that are less talented than him..

What are the odds of no Asian team making the semis? I hope the pitches have some variety.

Windies would have been a threat on these docile pitches.

Seems like every team so far that has won this world cup not only got points but also got massive run rate boost. All one sided affairs so far!

The other Asian teams not sure, we all know if India played 70% to their potential they can score 400+ on such flat tracks.

SA have set a new record total but I predict the record will be broken at least another two times before this tournament ends.

Shanaka going down swinging and brings ups a fifty.

Sri Lanka won't win but it's been an entertaining run chase from them.

In this era of flat decks and super aggressive batting, it is not possible to contain line-ups in the same way as it was when I was growing up. Now, the only way to contain is to take wickets, otherwise runs pour in later on.
The optimum strategy is now to play 5 proper wicket taking bowlers - if some are ARs that's awesome- but you have to have incisive bowlers all the way through.
Or stack your batting so much that you'll out bat everyone [Eng's approach] - but then your own toothless attack may fly.

The filtering of T20 mindsets into other formats will kill the bits and pieces player.

Lanka making a decent fist of it here.
Only 1 of the major sides doesn't seem to have dynamic strokemakers.
Lanka are c. 300 after 40 overs.
That's incredible - even in a losing cause.
