This summer I've been waiting to see why Mahmood is the young fast bowler they've picked out as the next man in, tbh. Didn't do especially well in the streamed warmups they played and has generally not taken multiple wickets for ages.

His 50-over cricket for Lancashire has been pretty good, but hasn't done better than his contemporaries in the various Lions and tour match outings they all get.

Just trying to channel the legacy of Saj Mahmood imo

Balbirnie is such a bad starter. He’s got an impressive record by Irish standards but I’ve only seen him get to double figures once. Which he converted into a ton.

If you're not watching he has this completely vertical bat on his stance. The bat has to move down so far he's playing his shots before the ball pitches. Very eyebrow-raising.
