The quality drop in teams is evident. Should increase the overseas player limit to 5 to compensate next year.

Besides his first delivery, Parnell has been the goods. Deserves a wicket considering how kxi have been handing them out.

Other T20 leagues are doing well with no more than one or two, despite one (England) having twice as many teams.

Selections should be governed by home team, zone and catchment, as well as who play better together. Teams are looking very disjointed at present. Team managers have to make do with local talent, and those who do better will go further.

Now, look at this current Delhi Daredevils team, and then the previous one, and then this one- imagine a Delhi team with players primarily from Delhi, Haryana and Central Zone teams.
  • Sehwag and Gambhir open
  • Mishra a frontline spinner
  • RP Singh a frontline pacer
  • Kohli and Raina (all right, only Kohli) in the middle-order
  • The other locals coming from MP, one of the better T20 units.
  • The same overseas block.
Guess which team will perform best. Teams representing Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore have very strong home and catchment bases to choose from, so they don't need to look elsewhere too often.

You forgot Ishant & Nehra, both of whom are from Delhi and are probably preferable to RP...

And Shikhar Dhawan.
And Mithun Manhas, who did quite well today for Pune Warriors.
And Rajat Bhatia (who counts in the same manner as Amit Mishra)

Raiphi Gomez seems like some cricketer, probably the worst bowler I have ever seen. de Villiers was never going to choke as its the IPL and no one really gives a **** but wow what an over. Don't think Mahela will be giving him the ball again anytime soon.

Only caught a few matches but the standard was pretty appalling. A lot of the WC guys look shot or just going through the motions while some of the other overseas guys are just ordinary nothing cricketers. Though good to see Warney still doing the business at 41. Legend.

Wouldn't say De Villiers choked in the WC either, made a pretty decent score and was looking good for more had Du Plessis not sold him down the river. Felt very sorry for him, Amla, Steyn and Tahir after their WC exit.
