8-) just medium pace, eh? Can you suggest what express fast bowler India should bring in place of pathan?

btw, I remember just before the Bangladesh series, you were saying that pathan is world class and should also bat at #3.

Doing "well" in this series would mean getting over 6 wickets a match, finishing with an average of less than 20- that's what a strike bowler should have at the end of a series against a team that's regularly shot out for les than 200 and has no real class in batting. Last time around, Pathan finished with an average of 28, which is not good.
And you think the other bowlers mentioned are going to do that??
If you think so, you can probably spot some hidden talent in these guys which the rest of the world has missed. In any case, Pathan hasn't done too badly considering its just the start of his career. The time to drop him is not now.

I understand the preference of KKD Karthik for the test team but why the hell is parthiv patel in the BP XI instead of Dhoni? what a load of crap.

in a way not getting selected might be a blessing in disguise for guys like kaif and paul. yuvraj is most likely going to be a reserve for the 1st test, while the guys who weren't selected will get a chance to make a case for the 2nd test in the BP XI match.

Then again, its tough to imagine how kaif or paul would get a place in the starting XI for the 2nd test either.

considereing younis khans performance in australia and his loyality to the pakistan team i would say that you are wrong replacing younis khan with asim kamal :)

Flintoff is about more than hitting 6s, and on-form Harmison was about more than pace.

Gilchrist is a fast scorer, but isn't solely a 6-hitter and can you remind us when Lee was last a good Test Bowler?

This smacks of Ganguly BS. Yuvraj ahead of Kaif - that is criminal.

And Nehra - another plodder proetcted by Ganguly.

I still think Ganguly has contributed some much needed oomph to the attitude and it's time for him to go. HE cannot bat (and that HAS been proven) and his favoritism is killing the morale of manya deserving youndsters (he has successfully destoyed Murali Kartik and he lost the Australian series in Aus. because of his fascination with Parthiv Patel).

Bringing Yuvraj in is the only problem with this selction but it's a BIG one He can only produce on docile picthes - has failed miserably in his county season a year or so ago :@

Are you being serious? Pathan isn't a world class bowler, but you can't possibly claim to want him out of the team. You'll eat your words when he does well this series, and if he doesn't, its not like the others (with absolutely no experience going into one of the biggest series for India) would do much better.

Also, what the hell is Yuvraj doing in the 14 man squad ahead of Mohammad Kaif? Are they frickin' serious? That's a disgrace!

And I'm sick of seeing Nehra in every squad of ours.

That century in Lahore + His Current Form has earned him that place.

I would love to see both Kaif and Yujraj play..kick ganguly out

That would be wonderful wouldn't it? But instead of Yuvraj, I'd go with someone more deserving like Venugopal Rao. And I agree with JustTool about Yuvraj. If Kaif hasn't done enough to get into the team then who has? All of the sudden, scoring 50s against Australia is ignored when a flashy player like Yuvraj walks in and hits a century on a flat track. The kid has talent- fine, but he had his chances fair and square during the Australia series and he blew it. Kaif on the other hand took full advantage of the few chances he got and it's pure injustice to give him the boot. I have to say the same about the "Little Devil" being chosen ahead of Dhoni for the BP XI.

Whatever it takes!!!
I think Dhoni is being labelled a OD specialist. Not sure why though. I still feel Kaarthick is the better keeper and therefore, should be in the test team, but I am not sure what Parthiv has done to merit selection ahead of Dhoni.

how long do you think ganguly will remain captain and ensure that one solid batsman is out of the lineup (either yuvraj or kaif)?

Maybe this is Parthiv's one last chance to prove any credentials. I do think Dhoni is better than Parthiv, but Parthiv is more experienced, and the thought of having 2 inexperienced keepers might be just a tad scary. All and all, Dhoni and Kaarthick both have bright futures ahead of them.

What about Asim's performance in Australia and his loyality to Pakistan team???

I don't think "loyalty" should be an issue.

It's a downright privilege to play for your country (especially in Pakistan, land of oddball selections) and players should bat, bowl and field accordingly.
