Partisan commentary usually doesnt bother me but fmd, Ian Smith was pretty insufferable today. As funny as it was to hear him cry "oh no oh no" over and over again as they were choking but it was way ott.
haha yeah i noticed at the time. when ah, certain financial powerhouses tour here the fawning is quite noticeable compared to when the other sides visit but it was hilarious to see the facade shatter as soon as the game got close and smith, mcmillan and hesson were basically cheerleading nz.

would have been interesting to put doull in that box tbh, a more hostile environment for his odious ways to the *** guzzling of the semi final even when it was tight.

Yeah I am not a fan of Ian Smith, I get it double, he also sometimes does commentary on rugby union.

NZ after toss - We ain't winning by batting first let's bat second this time.
India - Bat second anyway and win.

Another spirit of cricket or whatever the f*** meaningless award coming our way as the boys walked off the field shakin hands, wankin opposition d***s with total grace, sad puppy eyes and zero anger/intensity.
You expect them to throw a fit? Maybe it's the NZ fans here that need to come to terms with the mediocre cricket team representing them at the moment. Imagine sucking and being douchebags at the same time.

He has the same right to show passion about his cricket he wants him team to play with heart and the will to win.

Was watching this with my bro with tamil commentary.

Honestly didn't listen to anything that was said because we were too busy screaming and waking the year old baby up from her nap.

Did India win this match? According to Cricinfo statsguru, this match is tied , so India hasn't won the series yet.

It’s baffling that he’s batting at four and barely bowling. Of the entire country, he’s a top four batsman? His domestic t20 record isn’t even anything to write home about. And he was never going to produce anything in that situation tonight.

If they want an all rounder in that spot then Neesham is infinitely better qualified.
CdG is being picked as a top 5 batsman, and has made important contributions batting at #4 in the 4 T20 games we have won this season:
44 (28) and 59 (46) in SL (won both games)
28 (12) and 55 (35) vs Eng (won both games)

But we all know he struggles against good spin.

Still feels surreal last night's game.

We still can't make much changes, we had named the squad for the entire series unless selectors swallow their ego and call up Jimmy Neesham. We need a left handed batter against India who can actually bat.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
I thought this NZ team over achieved t actually chasing the score to a tie. And it took an otherworldly innings by the master Kane plus incredibly off Color Bumrah. Not to mention the misfields by india. All due respect.

India did their best to lose this. Promoting Dube to no 3 was absolutely WTF decision.
Honestly I agree with this. When I saw what India had scored I thought it would be out of reach. Guptill was the only other batsman to look like he would do anything and he was out in the 30s. Kane carried this innings and we got to a tie because of him, and we managed to lose in spite of him.

Yep he has shown marked improvement since batting at 4 reflecting in his stats there as well. Yep, poor 3 innings against India, but also showed he can play spin against the same bowling attack last year with a 50 and a 30. I'm not too concerned, just show some stickability for CDG please. I'd like to see this for T20 WC.

Guptill
Seifert (wk)
KW
CDG
Taylor
Neesham
Santner
Sodhi
Bennett
Lockie
Boult

Probably have Conway, Mitchell, Munro, Philips to round out the 15. I think that's a pretty well rounded squad especially with Neesham as a 6th bowling option.

India A lost the toss and put into bat. Duffy claims Mayank Agarwal. Agarwal hasn't had a good time so far on the tour. Hope our boys keep it that way and by the time the test series starts he will have some doubts. The guy can score massive runs.

*wrings hands over match 3 in a jam T20 series*

FMD.

The only big issue with the team at the minute is the casting aside of Jimmy Neesham. No idea why more people aren't talking about how clearly they've set him aside purely due to his personality. We will almost certainly never get the full story on the behind the scenes dramas relating to this but it's becoming weirder and weirder as time goes on. Leaving him out of a Test squad is fairly acceptable, but he should be one of the first on the sheet in both of the shorter forms of the game.

Neesham has only played 3 T20Is in the last 3 years and his T20 numbers are hardly banging down the door stuff.

It may well be that he's being left out for non-cricket reasons, but it's hardly unfathomable to leave him out for cricket reasons. Aside from the England series he was never actually part of the T20 set up during his ODI comeback.

Outside of Bennett and Seifert, who in the domestic call ups deserves a spot ahead of Neesham on batting or bowling alone? The bloke is on fire right now, you'd be mad not to see it.

It's a little strange that both CdG and Mitchell are ahead of him, tbf. It's not like he came back into the ODI team and put out middling results. He's averaged 44 with the bat (SR of 107) and 19 with the ball since his comeback. He then followed that up in the Super Smash and did similarly well. It's not like we are the best team in the world with amazing depth, this a number 6 ranked side that's been hit by injuries. And he can't make a squad of 14-15?

It's even stranger when you consider Neesham to be one of our ODI specialist death bowlers. I'm not calling for CDGs head or anything but in our last 14 T20I games we've given him 6 overs with the ball. It's probably better to think of him as a batsman in the format currently than an allrounder.
