We've kinda joked about Nevill playing for a little while now but I would seriously pick him ahead of Wade for the role we'd want him in. I'd stick with Haddin for the time being tbh but Nev would legitimately be my next in line.
What's wrong with Wade..? The guy is making a pretty good case of being picked as a pure batsmen but he surely should now replace Haddin, Nevill' glovework is better but his batting is still a work in progress.

For those who have seen Wade behind the stumps, what's his glovework like? Better or worse than Haddin's?

Wade's a bit all or nothing with the bat and technically a tad loose at times; I don't think that's what Australia needs from its #7 at the moment even though he's a better allround batsman than Nevill. He'd be able to push home an advantage but I wouldn't back his ability to arrest a collapse against good bowling in the same way Nevill would.

Foot-note for Nev: He's been playing in front of a NSW top order that's performing pretty much the same as the Australian top order this season..........

people 10 years from now will never appreciate just how good zaheer was in the second half of his career. They'll look at his career average and scoff at it. hoping he gets it below 30 atleast.
Still averages 28 over the last 5 years of his career.

Most great bowlers have 4-5 years of golden period during their career where they will average much lower then their overall career average.

An average of 30 justifies if you average 27-28 in your peak period.

I mean really, with Wade, think a younger Haddin. That's the easy imagery

Same can be said about the Vics too and Wade has bailed them out of numerous sticky situations.

It's amazing how sensible Siddle's batting is given his bowling...
He's the new Jason Gillespie....not that I think he'll make a double hundred, but he'd have to be a chance of getting a ton if he plays 60+ tests

Haddin is right in those ads when he says "Australian cricketers don't play for themselves". So selfless.
