People still think Australia has a chance to win this? Lol. They should try to salvage a draw and minimise the damage.
The bookies are paying $410 for Australia to win, so no people that inhabit planet sanity

You're joking right? What's the point of hitting a few flashy fours when we could suffer our third innings loss in a series. This is a seriously bad mentality and characterises Australia's batting in the last three years. All flashy with no grit or determination.
Since when does "playing your shots" mean "all flashy with no determination"? I would prefer them to play normally, and attacking, rather than going into their shells and trying to block their way to a draw. We aren't going to win, we aren't going to get a draw. Might as well have some fun out there and try and get some form.

Have some fun? It's not kiddies cricket down at the park. It's time to knuckle down and try to save this somehow

Think those balls should be called "commentator's balls" - makes the comms jizz in their pants but they're never gonna get a wicket.

From a player's perspective, reckon it's wrong-headed to think in terms of the result anyway. Plan to occupy the crease and see what happens next ball/over/half-hour. Most guys freeze if they think further ahead than that when facing 300+.

No, associating "having fun" with something only "kiddies" do is though. I mean ffs why would these guys even be playing cricket if they didn't enjoy it...

Yep agree. Just play the next ball on its merits.

Yep, this. Unless the pitch is doing heaps (which it isn't, it's clearly good for batting) they should just be playing their natural games. Whatever that brings in terms of a result, so be it.

Yet the same argument was put forward on the South African India thread (i.e. Centurion). Yesterday we had someone saying India deserve to be number 1 as Dhoni is unlucky with tosses and yet when he does win the toss and inserts a side on a greentop they score 350+.
If India draw this, We certainly deserve to be No.1 as we are dead even with SA, home and away and are more consistent in putting away the other teams.
