How so? Where? What do you mean? Apple?
Under county cricket their are Leagues such as the Lancashire Leagues, similar to Grade cricket in Australia. I think i read somewhere that he is playing for a League (Grade) side in England. A lot of Australia FC cricketers that don't get county contracts play League Cricket, just like many FC class players from England play Grade cricket in Australia.

Does that explain things??

1st Day Review
Division One

Glamorgan 198 (Elliot 84, Giles 6-44) vs Warwickshire 68-0
Edgbaston

The Champions will sleep soundly in their beds tonight after a good first day of the season. A feature of last season's success was the number of tosses that captain Nick Knight won, enabling the powerful batting line-up to make hay on numerous occasions. That Robert Croft won the toss here does not look as though it will make much difference though. Choosing to bat on a good pitch, Glamorgan had started well, mainly due to Aussie overseas player Elliott, who survived a confident caught behind appeal in the first over. He looked set to record the first century of the season when he was fourth out for 84, clean bowled by Ashley Giles. The England spinner was to finish with 6-44 as Glamorgan collapsed from 157-3 to 198 all out. Young Nick Warren would be happy with his 3-40 aswell. When Play was ended early due to bad light, Warwickshire had progressed to 68-0 and were confortably in control, Knight 41*. They will be looking to rack up the pressure tommorow.

Surrey vs Sussex 171-4
The Oval

Many people's favourites for the title this year, Surrey were forced to sit in the dressing rooms throughout the morning session with play not starting until after lunch. The 2003 Champions Sussex won the toss and decided to bat. 49 overs were bowled before play was curtailed early, but the honours were just about even with Sussex on 171-4, thanks to an unbroken 52 run stand for the fifth wicket between Yardy and England prospect Matt Prior(34 from 40 balls). Jimmy Ormond was the pick for Surrey, taking 2-29.

Hampshire 197 (Katich 72*) vs Gloucs 118-2 (Weston 66)
Rose Bowl

Hampshire won the toss and chose to bat first, but it looks like Shane Warne picked wrongly on the evidence of the first day's play. A solid opening partnership of 63 was followed by a collapse of 5 wickets for 22 with Katich looking on from the non strikers end. New signing Keving Pietersen was ruled out with injury, but the middle order was still quite strong and Warne must have been surprised to be at the crease at 109-6. He managed to stick around for a while, but the FC century wil have to wait, and Katich was left high and dry on 72 as Hampshire were all out for 197. Gloucs opening pair proceeded to add 80 with Craig Spearman (34) strangely being outscored by Weston. Spearman's dismissal brought in Kadeer Ali, for whom this season must surely be a last chance saloon, and Weston also fell late in the day.

Division Two

Essex 224-2(Jefferson 149) vs Yorkshire
Chelmsford

In another match affected by the rain, Essex made good progress against Yorkshire, though the rate was far from runaway. The first English centurian of the season was giant opener Will Jefferson who kept the crowd alive with 149 from 219 balls. It was just as well as Grant Flower, his partner for the majority of the day, seemed intent on sending them to sleep with his 55* taking 203 balls. Jefferson was dismissed just before the close, but Essex are firmly on top. England's Matthew Hoggard returned to action with 15 wicketless overs.

Leicestershire vs Durham 325-3 (Hussey 165*, Muchall 82)
Leicester

Bottom last year, Durham will be expecting to do a lot better this year. On the evidence of the first day here, they should as well. Much will depend on the prolific Hussey, and he delivered in a big way on day one. The first to reach a century he then went on to end the day unbeaten on 165, receiving admirable support from Lewis(50) and Muchall. Leicester will have their work cut out tomorrow, though the pitch looks a fine one, as GBH will be looking to get some wickets.

Lancashire 235-7(Loye 53) vs Somerset
Old Trafford

Both teams has reasons not to be cheerful coming in to this match. Somerset's bowlers just got hammered by a UCCE, and Lancashire would be missing the injured Hodge, Flintoff and Chapple with Murali also out. Somerset's batting had been strong though and they surely would get more assistance from the Old Trafford pitch on what was a very overcast day. Tresco therefore had no hesitation in putting Lancs in after the delayed start. The openers dug it out til lunch but Horton fell soon after. Lancs then reached a decent position at 137-2 before the loss of Law precipitated a middle order collapse to 170-6. A battling innings from Cork saw lancs close on 235-7 but Somerset would probably be the happier of the two. Blackwell's two wickets might indicate a spinning wicket, but the weather forecast isn't clever.

Derbyshire vs Worcerstershire 305-6 (Hick 80, Peters 55)
Derby
A hard fought first day between predicted strugglers Derbyshire and fancied Worcestershire. Hick opened his account yet again in style but was denied a century, Peters ground out a fifty and Solanki's stumps were disturbed for a duck. There was the strange sight of Gareth Batty up at number 6 but he added a valuable 47 as Worcs would be quite happy with 305-6. Moss and Welch were the pick of the Derbyshire bowlers.

Performance of the Day: Will Jefferson 149
