Good to see Brett D'Oliveria get a gig for the Pears. Grandson of the great man.

Non-striker's call. Jaques was running to the danger end.Nah Jaques ran too far down, Gale never called for one and said no pretty quickly too.
I remember when Pyrah went for 13 off the last ball of a T20 for Yorkshire to let Northants get a tie once, good times16 off one legitimate ball there. Must be something of a record?
Is that Bunny Austin in your new Avatar?I remember when Pyrah went for 13 off the last ball of a T20 for Yorkshire to let Northants get a tie once, good times
He looks very good so far, but then so does Gale. Might it be something to do with the quality or otherwise, of the bowling?Root looking in prime form here, it must be said. Long term Strauss replacement?
Not a whole lot, apparently.See what Bluey jr can do after his test travails.
And presumably son of the not-quite-so-great-but-still-played-for-Worcestershire Damian? The Frenchmen bat first, so the battle is delayed.

Saw him live against Derbys at Leeds other week only made about 20 I think but hit the ball pretty nicely tbf he got overshadowed by Lyth and Jaques making runs for fun in that match though.Didn't old Geoffrey say that Root reminds him of himself ?
Viscount, has Dave Miller looked good for you blokes in the T20 stuff. Feel he should be in the SA limited overs set-up. At least he is in the 'A' squad for the limited overs stuff in Ireland coming up. Good clean striker and quality fielder (always hits the stumps...its ridiculous)
Yup. Spit of his old man sans the tache, actually. And presumably son of the not-quite-so-great-but-still-played-for-Worcestershire Damian?
There can't be many cases of three generations playing for the same county, or even FC cricket at all.
EDIT
Apart from Len, Richard and Ben Hutton, obvs.
Cheers mate. Much appreciated.Saw him live against Derbys at Leeds other week only made about 20 I think but hit the ball pretty nicely tbf he got overshadowed by Lyth and Jaques making runs for fun in that match though.
Definatley a good fielder though.

Bowls leg spin, but they're just slow rollers by the look of this over. Went for 11.
Didn't Basil's bro play FC cricket too? I'm sure there's a nature/nurture debate CW hasn't had yet about the cricketing dynasties.Yes, I checked cricinfo after my last post. Brett does indeed look about 12 in his picture there. His dad's photo, unfortunately, suggests that he's gained about 10 stone since I last saw him.
Apparently Brett's two brothers are on the books of MCC or somesuch, so there's a bit of talent in the genes.
