He really gives it a good rip does Mendis. Length has been a bit all over the place, but something to build on for sure

From commentary and his FC record it does sound like he is a batsman first and spinner 2nd but yeah certainly looks capable of bowling wicket taking deliveries even if it comes with the inconsistency of a non specialist spinner.

yea SL could have been a bit more aggressive with the fields, but tbf this pair haven't really given them many chances. Hoping to dry the runs until a wicket taking delivery comes around is as good a plan as any. Over attacking with the fields could have seen the target chased down already.

Eitherway, good effort by England in the chase so far. Bit of a wobble, but on track to wrap this up. Could do it today itself.

I know Sibley looked so terrible in the first three innings of the series, but then he literally always looks terrible.

If he keeps somehow finding ways to make runs who are we to complain.

Got to say I think Buttler is really getting to grips with test match batting now. Just looks very assured at the crease. India will present a much more difficult challenge with their pace attack but he looks good
Scary thought. That cover drive he played just now goes to show what a talent he can be on these sort of turners. Against the turn, using his wrists to generate power while keeping the ball down, superb.

He misses the last 3 tests in India.

Got to say whatever happens from here this is probably Sibley's best test knock, under pressure after 3 failures and he has played very well today in a tense situation.
The reports I've read suggest this is also down to a lot of work in the nets to correct issues. I hope it's the making of him in Asia. Whilst we've been critical of the openers Crawley got a brute by all accounts today. I still have faith in the top three.

How's the light looking? Had to abandon even TMS for conference calls now. Should be getting this wrapped up today though yeah?
