Tharindu bowls some real pies every over but hes like those unpolished wrist spinners who will get you wickets no matter how bad they bowl

what is the point of Anamul? Averages 11 over 8 tests, can't bowl.. Two drops today and still gets out for a duck..
BD are a good team but for some reason they seem reluctant to field some new stars , I guess we are also in the same boat but they are even more conservative..

I can understand sticking with Tamim , Mushfiqur , Shakib , Liton Das , Mehidy these are class players but they seem to give the same treatment over the years to lesser players like Soumya Sarkar , Anamul Haque , Khaled Ahmed when their performance don't merit it

On the outside looking in , Parvez Emon and Hridoy would be in my top 6 already by now..Don't know what's the hold up they are clearly top prospects

Weird wheel of bd selection. I am all for bringing back someone who improved themselves but guys like Anamul just simply carrying dead weight than anything. I've said it before that Naim Sheikh would have been a better choice. Or maybe Tanzid Tamim. We have heavily invested in Tanzid Tamim already.

Cant rate Shadman with this upright kind of technique. Commentators are right. He will be found out outside sub continent. I don't think he can massively change this either. Gotta drop him and look for someone else.

Yeah Tanzid definitely is in the "couldn't possibly do worse" camp at the very least. Not so sure about Naim unless he's improved his footwork significantly. I think you were saying he has?

What's the deal with his technique? Always curious to learn more about batting technique?

Naim worked extremely hard and the results showed. Iirc his backlift is much lower now compared to what he started with and it clicked for him.

I am no expert though. Just my observation. His momentum is not leaning on to the ball. He stays kind of glued mostly with upright position. Its gonna allow him to cut swiftly as his body is in upright position but hes a gonner if there is swing in air and the ball moves after pitching in fuller sort of length. He needs to have extremely good hand eye coordination to survive with this. But unfortunately he lacks it I think. During India tour, he's one player who played Bumrah well iirc because for some reason Bumrah bowled mostly shorter lengths to him allowing him to just stand and meet the ball with the bat.

Lanka affecting the collapse that I was surprised hadn't happened yet. This is when Jaker usually plays an innings slightly redeeming knock.

An issue for us is that we have a tail-fronter in Anamul as well as two particularly hapless tailenders in EbaGOAT and Nahid. That's three blokes who can't be trusted to make 10 between them, a bit like India's last three.
