8 wickets in a session would be an amazing way to win

I'd actually believe we could do it if Shakib or Miraz were playing. I rate Taijul, not sure Nayeem has that ability to induce chaos in a spell

Excellent performance by Bangladesh here. A lot of teams struggle on this ground, but they played brilliantly for most of the game. I think if there was no rain and they scored a bit quicker, they might have won. Despite the result, I feel this was a good game and featured some good performances from many players.

First innings collapse the biggest concern for us. Nayeem getting wickets on a road was the most heartening thing for me, beyond the guys getting big scores. Still remains to be seen whether he's good enough but that's the first time he's gotten wickets on an unhelpful pitch.

I'm guessing the Colombo deck will turn and I think matter what the merits or failings of the Lankan spinners may be, our batsmen will remind us how hapless they are when there's a hint of a challenge. I think Asitha will cause us problems as well, as he has before, on a deck that isn't as flat as that one.

Shanto has no game awareness whatsoever. Absolutely pathetic. Also the way he celebrated his second century of the match when he was guiding the team to a draw due to his stupidity was mind boggling.
Yeah that was pathetic after the way he slowed everything down in his 90s. I wanted us to take a safety-first approach, but the way he batted owed nothing to strategy or to wanting to safeguard the result. The selfish **** just blatantly sacrificed the team so he could secure his ton.

FWIW, I don't think we'd have won anyway but he pissed me off today.

Perhaps the BD team's mind set is to consider the safety of a draw, especially away from home, preferential to the risk of defeat? Looking at the game's RR tended to suggest both sides did attempt to score quickly enough to force a win; even if the tempo slowed down at crucial times as posters here mentioned.

I couldn't watch the game but I followed the comments here and it seemed to me that if BD declared when posters suggested it would have left the course of the game in SL's hands. In as much that they would have been able to apply the accelerator or the brake depending on how successful the chase was going. Could be BD's 2nd innings was ill timed because they couldn't secure enough runs and time to better dictate terms in the 4th innings. Either way it is an interesting contrast with their fans who seem assertive for their team to go for wins.

I think the pitch was ok for this match. Initially it seemed a road that wouldn't even consider a 3rd innings but it nearly produced a result.

I could be wrong but when subcontinent sides play each other. Tends to be a lot more flat surfaces then when other countries tour.

EbaGOAT replacing our genuine test standard quick and our usual saviour Jaker being benched isn't a good start

On positive note, I really like that we went with five specialist bowler. But I am sure Ebadot 2.0 will be a spectacular failure. We could have retained Jaker by dropping Anamul and to open with Shanto. I don't think no4 is his position.

Was really excited to see Sooriyabandara debut. Why have SL decided to go for another AR in Dinusha though?

why does anamul plant his front foot like that? Dont know if its his habit or he didnt work on it or just stubbornness? Walking wicket with that technique
