*Official* Bangladesh A v New Zealand A

Aritro

International Regular
Wow, Anamul skittles Josh Clarkson. He has 3/13 in his 6th over. NZ A teetering on 6/105.

There should be a World Test Championship for A teams. We'd clearly win it. We're ****ing amazing.

Mitch Hay on 60*

Considering that Hay is averaging 47 in 1st class cricket and looks to be a superb keeper, Tom Blundell's test career is probably over.

Kiwis doing well against the older ball. Tomorrow is going to be very interesting if they get to 240-250. Don't think our bats will relish playing on this deck, although the heat will have dried it out.

Depends on who the coach is. If Stead retains the test coach job, Blundell will be retained. Scored a hundred in his last test series, donchaknow.

He did but he's also averaged 20 in the last 2 years (14 tests) and you don't want to waste an easy introduction to test cricket like Zimbabwe. It's a nice place to slot someone like Hay into the team.

Nz only have 1 seamer in the 11.
So, you should be fine. (Until day 4)

Its not the right plan by NZ A to Sohan bowling leg side bouncers. Hes strong in hooks and pulls. Just normal line and length should do it at this stage

I think it's an amazing scorecard, as all the others were, and am buzzing, but I'm not sure what we're learning other than that blokes who are not quite good enough for test cricket are capable of winning in A team cricket at home. All the guys winning us games are very familiar faces with plenty of international experience in which they've shown they're substandard.

This new Anamul dude taking wickets was interesting though.

Sohan is the best wk in the country and more than decent bat. He should be a regular in national side imo. Jaker Ali is doing good but he needs to imrove his keeping to retain his place.

I don't think Mahidul Ankon has in it him to be playing in front of Jaker or Sohan. Not a good keeper and technically flawed as batsman (proved again today). After watching few of his innings, its more puzzling that he got the nod against SA last year in home test. Zakir Hossain is in same category now. We have already invested more in Zakir and the result is disappointing. Joy has followed the same route. We can have another look into Naeem Sheikh as he worked on his skill considerably and results are showing. And Shamim Patowary for limited overs.

Went through and watched some highlights.
- Mariu and Carter both very non-opener shots to get bowled. Clarkson and Foxcroft similar too - four batsmen bowled by inswingers.
- Kelly sawn off, horrible lbw.
- Abbas out trying to hit a wide one, eh it happens.
- Fairly good ball to get Boyle.
- Hay used his feet to hit the spinners well.
- The highlights of our bowlers' wickets weren't so good. Abbas still looks like he surprises batters with slippery bounce. Ashok's wrong'un wicket was nice. Clarkson's part-timers are ok but we'd really prefer other bowlers outperform him. Still think Clarke has potential but feel he's stagnated in the last twelve months. Lennox barely made any highlights, I guess he was fairly controlled.

If you rewind live feed (YT - T Sports) to 3-129 / 37.2 overs you see the nasty incident where Kelly (74*) is struck on back of head by ball thrown at stumps when diving to regain his ground. Obviously he passed concussion test and batted on.

Wouldn't you just play Jaker as a bat?

I'll take your word for it on Naim. Was wondering what he'd be like with a few years more experience - hopefully he's improved his footwork.
