1/18 off 14 overs ain't too shabby, hopefully he will keep that sort of economy for the ODI's

Also i just heard on the news Jason Gillespie got bashed in Victoria. Facial injuries, nothing too serious though.
Bloody victorian scum.

And Tait is still next in line I feel.

Reckon Dougie will tour Pakistan and/ or the Windies tbh, because:
1. he's on fire.
2. he's a leftie.
3. he's only 26.
4. I played against him and want bragging rights that he didn't get me out (the mediocre bloke at the other end usually got me 1st).
5. (most important) - I predicted in the Aussie A in Pakistan thread that he will play test cricket for Australia, and was laughed at.

Surely Gillespie was bragging to some local park cricketer about his double-hundred in Bangladesh.

Yeah but when it comes to a touring squad, they generally pick guys who they feel are long term options. Not saying Bollinger can't be a long term option, but Hilfenhaus would still be ahead of him in that catergory.
That's were Peter Siddle comes in...

How gun is our fast bowling stocks for the future?

Johnson, Tait, Siddle, Hilfenhaus, Bollinger.

12 pts behind now west australia looks like they will now miss the final, season over for them.
NSW will now lose hughes and steve smith for the rest of the year, thats unless their is a one dayer soon.

Siddle is too green take him on some academy tours,or aussie A tours or a county stint, most the others have done this so should he.

I reckon Gerard Denton is a better bowler then Peter Siddle.

Sure is getting some good figures of late though.

Speaking of Victorian quicks, has there been any recognition on here that Mick Lewis has retired from Domestic Cricket? Happened during the week, haven't seen it mentioned anywhere on the forums.

On denton its a case of 1 if he was a bit younger 33. 2if he didn't break down a lot.
Similar case to shane harwood, altho he has averaged 40 per wkt this season, maybe on the way out.Harwood has the same problems with breaking down as denton.

Done the Academy a few times, although don't know if he's been on a Tour. He's gotten injured a couple of times during his Academy stints.

Phil Hughes, what a legend. Great start to his career. Played 4 matches, has a half-century in each and is averaging 54.20.

A shame he'll miss the next couple of state matches because he'll be at the U-19 WC.

Yeh it did get brought up I believe. A great career from Mick. Pitty about the record that he holds internationally, he had a stellar career in the baggy blue. A great servant of Victorian Cricket for 10 or so years. Congrats on a great career, ML.

Denton is certainly Vic's best bowler at the moment regardless of what Siddle is doing and how Nannes is bowling total smoke.

Good win for the blues. Bowled really well yesterday afternoon and put themselves in a good position to win the game.

When the aussie A tour go away hughes has sealed a spot averages 54,rogers averages 39 and jewell 41,divineuto retired.
I forgot he(siddle) was at the academy altho injured most the time,an A tour would be a step up for him, some county experience would be good too.
