*Official* Australia vs South Africa -2022/3

Whatever it takes!!!
FWIW, I dont think there is too much wrong with this pitch but given the nature of the Brisbane ground and the hard and true bounce and pace, and the new kookaburra balls, this was always inviting a couple of lollapses.

They have tried Mulder, but he hasn't done anything with the bat at test level.
This is such a lie. They have not given Mulder decent opportunity... they have given him one off tests (occasionally two) since the age of 22. If you or anybody expected him to suddenly score lots of runs from that then I don't know what to say... Lets give him 2 or 3 series particularly now that he has started scoring runs both in SA and England. And he certainly won't do any worse than the current batting line up, and has the potential to provide lots more.

Then you should first Learn about test cricket .
Just **** off out of the thread. No one wants to discuss Indian pitches here

Seriously, watching guys like Michael Clarke taking bundles of wickets is a disgrace. These are world class bowlers destroying an average batting line up. Get in your head

The absolute worst result that could come out of a reaction to people talking about this pitch would be reverting back to the roads of 2014-2017 which make for way worse cricket than this
I mean I definitely prefer this to this thing or this but that's like the lowest standard imaginable. I do feel this is verging a little onto "lottery" status at times which is where I always draw the line.

Stop being idiots. You've got 2 very good bowling attacks and a lot of ordinary batting out here. It's a bowler's wicket but it's not a terrible pitch.
Yeah South Africa don't need a bad pitch to bat like morons. This is definitely a bowling pitch but Aus still made 220 and a similar decent batting side would have made a similar score

yeah this is excellent and entertaining cricket but the bloke's right that if this was spin bowling doing the damage people would be waaaaahing

both this and dustbowls are both good!

Aus 220 with SA bowling like a drain for a lot of that though

Depends what you mean. A "rank turner" where Michael Clarke and Joe Root are more effective bowlers than a world-class fast bowler is definitely worse than this.

That would be like if David Warner bowled some medium pacers and was more dangerous than Nathan Lyon
Root and Clarke are far better bowlers than that analogy. It's bit more like if Paul Collingwood ran through a decent test side.

Australia should bowl marginally worse to tactically make it more likely that they get a pitch like this again.

It's genuinely annoying. There have been a few "unplayable" balls but most wickets haven't been. At all. It's been sustained bowling in good areas and batsmen making mistakes. Stop ****ing complaining about a pitch that is great for Test cricket.

Honestly if anything this is a bad decision to roll out this sort of pitch tactically, this evens up the balance between the sides far more than one where 350 is par given how horrible SA's batting lineup is.

I think fast bowling related bad pitch is when it starts to shoot low and rear up dangerously. Sideways movement, even excessive, is fine. Yeah the scores would be low but great players like Travis Head still find ways while mediocre ones like Mathew Wade will no doubt struggle

This is literally the exact same word-for-word post that you could make about a massive raging turner though. "Why do batsman keep missing the straight balls and getting bowled", he writes after five of the six previous balls turned ninety degrees.

That is pretty rich coming from a guy who considers SL pitches doctored .
If SL pitches are doctored, so is this .
