Green's development as a T20I cricketers doesn't get spoken about enough. Gone from a pinch hitting opener to a very consistent middle order bat in no time.
Makes the team composition so much easier. Seems close to a settled top 7 now with the main question being whether Stoinis is just out of form or if he's done.

I don't think this is the proper batting line up, if they had a World Cup tomorrow. Travis Head needs to fit in somewhere

Still not feeling the vibe with David. If Stoinis still wants to represent then I think he offers more with the bat and considerably more with the ball and that should round out the 7. There's always Singapore for David.

Oh yeah, I don't mean this line up is the 7, but it looks like Head, Marsh, Inglis, Green, Maxwell, Stoinis/Owen, David is what they're moving towards going ahead.
I've accepted that Smith just doesn't fit in the plans but I would still like Matt Short at the top with the rest sliding down. Tim David shouldn't be in the proper XI.

I know he's got an atrocious record in the format but with his recent form Alex Carey wouldn't be a bad option either.

So many bowling options I'd be tempted to pick the extra bat.

Head
Short
Marsh
Inglis
Maxwell
Green
1 of Owen/Stoinis/Carey/David
1 of Owen/Stoinis/Carey/David
Cummins/Haze
Starc
Zampa

I know you don't rate Tim David but he's has a good argument to be the best finisher in the world over the past few years just based on numbers. He's a lock. And I don't think Short is good enough against spin for a subcontinent world cup.

They might have to fit Carey in the squad considering the lack of keeping options, so prob worth trying to play him in a couple of games before the end of the year.

If you're looking for a back up keeper why not Phillipe?
He'd be an option, I just think Carey in his current form and with his international experience would be the slightly better pick. I think they're still just hoping JFM will come good tbh so who knows what they'll do.

There seems to a bit of a youth obsession going on. Other than JFM they're trying to force Cooper Connolly into every team, in whatever role they can find. Then they're picking teenagers that have played 1 or 2 first-class games (or none) in Australia A sides

Two thoughts. One, why do they keep playing the same bowling attack when it has spent the last 5 matches getting pummelled? Any chance of some experimentation? I honestly think we've lost the plot in this format.

Secondly, any chance we can win a toss? The dew is a significant factor in the Caribbean under lights and we've lost every toss on this tour.
