I really can't see how Southee can be captain when he shouldn't be a guaranteed selection.

Possibly why he wanted to be captain so bad?

There's clearly still life in this deck, henry is showing it and sears is occasionally getting it to do a bit. Kuggs just sucks and southee doesn't have the skillset to exploit the older ball without reverse nowadays.

There's very, very rarely a genuinely unplayable delivery where the batsman couldn't have done better to defend it. Considering the whole over, maybe we can consider it good bowling rather than microanalysing the batting faults.
