So Carey's world cup was a fluke then.

Our ODI team really does suck when the bowlers have something to work with. Finch is such a flat track bully and that works most places but in SA it really doesn't.

That’s actually a disgraceful ODI tour by Australia tbh. They should never get white washed anywhere, in any form of the game, by anyone. Wholesale sackings required.

Whatever it takes!!!
Dean Jones 99* off 77 balls. What was the fastest ODI 100 at the time? Kapil v Zimbabwe? Viv's 189? Another?
Border scored 120 or something off 88 in the same game. Could have been one of the fastest 100s at that time. Viv's happened in 1987 or 1989 if I am not wrong. Although, Viv's hundred in the 79 final was pretty fast too, IIRC.

Yeah but what do you do when it's your big guns at the top falling? Warner, Smith, Labuschagne all made decent scores at one point in the series. The problem was with the lower middle order and they need to be given some time. Marsh in particular needs to be given a run to find out if he's better than Stoinis or not.

Seems to have become a modern trend for Oz ODI sides; when there isn't a WC on the horizon their standards fall away. To not even get close to a win with the talent/experience they had against such an inexperienced lineup was a poor effort.

Some odd selections as well; bowling was way understrength in Game 2 and then misread the pitch and were a spinner short this game. On a broader level, not really sure why Kane Richardson continues to be a fixture in ODI squads.

Yeah kane is not an international level bowler. He occasionally gets wickets but his economy in recent times has been god awful.

Just don't get why he's around. He was given a long run before the WC, then played at the WC and was terrible, was dropped, so now they... want to go back to him?

I don't think he was by any means terrible, although he can be too expensive at times. Being half a yard slower than he used to be doesn't really help either.

Don't think he's a superstar but most of the alternatives are either perpetually crocked, more red ball bowlers, or in some cases both

Abbott would be a better choice than KRich in the ODI side, and a better bat with it

Or your number one white ball bowler could play the third game of an international series. You know, just for ****s and giggles.

Actually Mitchell starc is only the 8th best white ball bowler, he is not even the best Australian white ball bowler, that is Patrick cummins

In the context of the series, where Short was given an opportunity to build towards the WT20, and really, I think Kane played yesterday for a similar reason, I do think it's a bit odd that Abbott didn't stay for the OD series and that Kane played.

So you dont know about this then:

And the clear tone they are trying to portray
I know about the documentary m8. Just don't see the relevance. Also love the irony of being lectured about the importance of representing your country the team whose every second decent player ****s off to play Country cricket or T20 circuits in their prime.
