Surely Stewart will come in for Broom next game now or perhaps re-look at the Marshall twins or Sinclair who all have better ODI records than Broom.

Here's hoping Styris can get going again and support Taylor :)

Let's all just get used to the fact Broom's going to be a permanent fixture in this one-day side, no matter how often he fails. Obviously an average of 17 & SR of just on 70 (after 20+ games) is good enough for a middle order specialist batsman who doesn't bowl.
This makes me so mad.

I don't want Broom anywhere near the test team either, I don't care what his fanclub says, he's missed so many straight balls first up in his ODI innings and gets out in ridiculous ways, he is crap.

So what if he's scored a couple of hundreds in one season of domestic cricket, add him to the queue behind Sinclair, Fulton, Marshall, How, Cumming, et al.

There's still a chance in this game, but NZ really need to score 300+ here.

The only way to do that is to take the powerplay with two batsmen set and take your chances.

Please, please, plllllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeee, don't keep holding back the powerplay because someone will almost likely get out and thus the waiting process will begin all over again. Seen it so many times. Pisses me off no end.

When Hopkins reaches 20, I say take it. If both current batsmen are in at the 40 over mark, TAKE THE ****ING POWERPLAY!!!

Styris is so good in these middle overs.

It's honestly beyond belief that Broom and Franklin were ahead of Styris in the pecking order before this series began.

Agreed.

The selectors' reasonings that they wanted to give Broom and Franklin opportunities was ridiculous.

You give opportunities and try things against Bangladesh.

But this is Australia, FFS. There is no "trying out" of players. You either have your **** sorted out, play your best players, or you lose.

Never thought I'd say this, but Hopkins has been really useful with the bat in this series.

So once again folks, in an important game between these two teams, Australia performs at their best, whilst NZ absolutely flunks it.

So predictable, when you think about it.

i dont get sick of commentaters wanking on about power play bcause they are absolutely right. New Zealand are the worst when it comes to managing their batting powerplay.
