White's release is actually looking quite a bit better today - getting his wrist more behind the ball than before. Has turned a couple of leggies as a result, too. The ball they used when comparing him to Kumble showed it really well - if they compared that to the one they used last time they compared him to Kumble ( 8-) at the repetition, but anyway) you'd see a significant difference.

White's bowling has shown a considerable amount of improvement on this tour, but its just a shame that despite picking him in every test, Ponting doesn't seem to show much trust in him when it really matters.anyways so who do you think should play in the next test Krezja or White?

Still have to play Krezja - White may have improved but he is still woefully substandard

Why is Ponting making Clarke bowl all these overs when the game is clearly heading for a draw, its not going to do his back any good.

Yeah, this 4 fast bowler + White + Clarke is not working for Aus. They should drop one of the underperforming pacers and get in a spinner. Too much burden on Clarke, and they have struggled really to put the Indian batsmen in any sort of trouble (except of course the 1st test 1st inn)

What they got to lose anyway?

Only option is to drop White for Krezja

Why can't the Indians declare now? Atleast there is a chance of getting a wicket or two, and keep the momentum going into the last test!

If the trend continues like this, India can never hope to become a sustained No.1

Just looked at the bowling averages for the series:

India

Z Khan - 10 wickets @ 35
Mishy - 9 wickets @ 27
Ishant - 11 wickets @ 28
Sehwag - 5 @ 28
Kumble - 3 @ 91

Australia

Clark - 2 wickets @ 81
Clarke - 2 wickets @ 98
Katich 1 wicket @ 65
Lee 7 wickets @ 57
Watson 5 wickets @ 45
White 5 wickets @ 59
Johnson - 15 wickets @ 35.

It'a sorry sight for Aussies and Kumble.
Well, everyone is asying Johnson has been Australia's best bowler. Not sure what to say there, but I don't think anyone expected the fast bowlers to do what they do in in Australia. I think Johnson and Zaheer have done well and probably as well as a paceman can do in India. While Clark and Lee have defiently disappointed; Lee's average is back over 30.

Kumble is a sorry sight. Is it rare to see greats go out in poor fashion? He is injured, ineffective and inept. Pretty sad for the best Indian bowler ever.

Yeah, sad sight really. He has the commitment, like he showed up in the first innings, with 11 stitches, that's championesque. However, it's simply that his body has slowed down than his mind wants it to. Time to say adieu, and I don't think he;ll be playing in the Nagpur test owing to this injury and possibly ever.

agree with you Pup

Why is Lee bowling ?

Why isn't Cameron White being the rest of the afternoon to have a bit of practice ?

They shold be saving their big guns and giving the rest a chance for a bit of practice.

Any one got the reason for this ?
