*Official* Australia in India 2023

If you think travelling hundreds of miles to kill an animal is fun and like to have your picture taken with it bleeding its brains out to hang on your wall then you are scum.
I don't care how many villagers you feed, ecosystems you protected or charity work you do.
Mcgrath = scum, imo.
Correct

It's because pitches in practice matches the last couple of tours have tended to have rather more grass and rather less turn than the test pitches
Not sure about that. India gave Australia 2 games on a typical Indian track 2 tours ago where domestic spinners took all the wickets.

On the last tour the report says it was good for batting - https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...s-australia-tour-match-1082201/full-scorecard

Iyer 200 at nearly a run a ball. Lyon went at 5.6 an over. Lovely to see.

Best of all, Pant got Handscomb out in the 2nd innings lmao.

That scorecard does not support what you wrote. The most overs by the pace bowlers and an opening batsman with sixteen FC wickets as the second spinner.

It's because pitches in practice matches the last couple of tours have tended to have rather more grass and rather less turn than the test pitches. The point of wanting to practice on the Nagpur pitch after the match was to practice in conditions they'll actually be facing in the tests.
Something is still better than nothing. The conditions for example, summer is fast setting in on India. Grass and all won't be a big deal by day 1 post lunch in this weather.

You said last couple of tours - the tour before the last had two warm ups where spin played a huge role. Even the last one doesn't appear to be something out of the ordinary for India. Ranchi played similar to that.

But when there's grass, once it dries out the pitch tends to be flat. And that's without considering the condition of the underlying surface.

Yeah and Aussie batsmen need that practice don't they ? Been worse than inferior touring teams so far. On pitches that were hardly otherwise.

Going forward expect pitches to be even better for batting, as the weather conditions are changing dramatically. Indore traditionally has been a batting beauty.

Ahmedabad will be sweltering at near 40 degrees heat. That's one helluva tan awaiting them there.

India ideally should look to wrap it up by Indore and then rest Ashwin and Jaddu in favor of other spinners at Ahmedabad.

are both Starc and Green confirmed to be available from the next test?
Green has declared himself fit, not 100% on starc.

Can I just say that this all feels earily similiar to india's position in the last border gavaskar? Captain goes home, huge batting collapse costs the team a dominant position after a lower order cameo reduces a dominant lead to a small one. Not saying Australia are going to go 2-2 from here but it's funny.
