Hi guys,

I'm brandnew to the forum, felt in love with cricket a month ago while visiting my family in NZ, watching the Commonbank games NZ vs AUS and npw the West Indies series.

Got a bat and played it for 6 weeks on every beach, park, ... that we bumped into to.

So now I'm back in Europe, really would love to learn more about this awesome game, don't know that much about teams in general so I'm supporting the Black caps.

Aswell a question, my mate lost his cricketbat somewhere between Auckland and Amsterdam, it was a Ihsan bat, he didn't pay that much for it; for me the bat was a bit too heavy as I'm using Kookaburra. Did he lose a good bat or not?

thnx, looking forward to expand my knowledge

Peace

Can't get the link to work - anyway it's to the Sydney Morning Herald website and an article claiming the game began in Belgium

Aight, if the game started in Belgium I can only cheer this one

My nickname started as a little joke, my SA mates called me amobokoboko which is Zulu for Springbok as I was always jumping around when climbing mountains and I replied saying Amobokobobokoboko and the kept that name for me. The joke is that I got it when living in New Zealand and that I'm a All Black fan.

Anway I like the name.

me neither but he bought it @ stirling sports in Papapaurauma
Haven't heard of that shop either :)

Seriously, most stores (even the biggest and the best) keep bats ranging from the very ordinary to the very best. A quick net search shows you can buy diferent models from £10 to £99 online.

Thnx mate, the only question I have about ordering online is how do you know what you buy.
My neighbour ( in New Zealand) was a cricketcoach for 25 years and he took me to Rebelsport and explained me for almost 2 hours the difference between the bats and told me which Black Caps/ Aussie used which bat. Awesome expierence.

But for me to actually buy a bat I need to hold it first and compare, personnaly I prefer a longer bat ( SH) which has a lot of meat ( So rarther thick) but the bat an sich has to be light;-)

That's why I prefer to a shop and compare and try the different bats before spending some money.

The Ihsan's that I have seen (Pakistani brand, I think) have had very nice pick-up, big bows. Always felt like good bats, but haven't heard big wraps from those who use them.

Hi, I'm Andmark, and I hope you will enjoy the forum and Cricket in a whole :)

I have had about four years experience of Cricket which includes watching, playing for Cricket teams. And I can safely say I have never heard of that brand. If you want advise on what brands to use, I would advise: Kookaburra, Gray Nicholls, Slazenger, Hunts County, and that's about it.
