Out of curiousity, where is Mr. Sanford?
59, sandwiched between Simon Katich and Travis Friend.

But actually above the likes of Simon Jones, Sean Ervine, Scott Styris, Brad Hogg, Robin "85" Peterson, Gareth "94" Batty, Dewald Pretorius and Dave Mohammed.

Some ppl may be surprised about someone like Sanford being ahead of Scott Styris but Styris up until recently didn't have much consistency with the ball. I think though he'll rise up the rankings, he's bowling alot better recently.

I wouldn't be so sure - he never seems to have a major workload as a bowler, and doesn't strike me as the sort of bowler who will ever take a lot of wickets.

More of a batsman and 5th seamer than anything.

I only mentioned his name in there as he was initially touted more of an all-rounder.

World Traveller
Styris started as bowler who can bat like Nathan Astle, but as time wore on they have become batsmen who bowl.

Jono

Virat Kohli (c)
Murali leading bowling in both forms of the game :D

That list of top 10 test batsmen in the world is one awesome list.

2 performances at the oval get marcus trescothick at no 10??tsk tsk
and sachin tendulkar having done absolutely nothing over the last one year except scoring a double hundred on one of the flattest wickets against an ordinary bowling attack gets him to no 9 in the test ratings?

it seems that these ratings are one match dependant..score a big hundred on the flattest pitch in the world and fail for the next 10 matches and ur still in the top 10!

It takes into account performances over a few years, he's been brilliant other than this year remember?

if thats what is does then u hafta wonder what gayle is doing at the top of the ODI ratings and how anil kumble is at no 7 in the test ratings

Gayle in his last 40 ODI's averages 53.21, has scored 7 hundreds and 10 50's...which is a stunning record.

and Kumble has done well recently in tests (12 in a match vs Australia, and a couple of other fivefers vs Australia as well etc)
