Mystery Draft 3 - Global Premier League

State Vice-Captain
Either one of Roberts or Walsh would be fine.

Have a similar problem myself.
Mohammad Asif gives me an awesome 5 man attack, but leave my batting a bit short
Younis Khan gives me tremendous batting depth but leaves me with no bowling options beyond my front-liners
Mustaq Mohammad is a great all round alternative isn't as good in either discipline.

What would you guys do? I'm leaning towards Asif myself

Whats the rest of your team?

Yeah depends on the team lineup, if you already have 4 amazing bowlers then no need for the 5th.

Got a dilema myself with the final Kiwi, think I am going to go for one of the new lads (Jones still an option though) but Taylor or Ryder?

Would have to go to Taylor IMO considering he has more experience. Jones not a bad option either.

Got The Wall at 3 so feel I do not really need Jones and I like that I have an attacking lineup.

Probably does have to be Taylor, just wish that (sure new zealand fans wish it a lot more) Ryder had played a few more tests.

Asif would slot in at 10, Younis at 5 and Mushtaq at 6. Actually looking at it that way Mushtaq might be the best option.

Yeah, I think you need an extra bowler, but the batting lineup isn't the solidest either so Mustaq may be the wisest option. Thinking about it, I may prefer Asif, just to give your bowling an edge since Imram and Knott aren't the worst with the bat.

I'm in a bit of a spot myself. No one else has Sri Lanka if I remember correctly. 5 top notch pace options or 4 top notch pace options and an ok spinner or an allrounder to balance things a bit more. Or perhaps a Ranatunga to give the batting a bit of steel.

Leaning towards one more bowler although I think Marshall, Ambrose, Steyn and Botham would probably be enough against most teams.

Made my decision. No-one else has Pakistan so I'm free to grab Mushtaq Mohammad.
All my remaining money goes towards getting good support staff.

Team name: The Dishpigs
Team motto: We'll clean you up!

1.Glen Turner 2991 runs @ 44.64
2.Saeed Anwar 4052 runs @ 45.52
3.Ricky Ponting 11928 runs @ 55.22
4.Daryll Cullinan 4554 runs @ 44.21
5.Dave Houghton 1464 runs @ 43.05
6.Mushtaq Mohammad 3643 runs @ 39.17, 79W @ 29.22
7.Imran Khan* 3807 runs @ 37.69, 362W @ 22.81
8.Alan Knott+ 4389 runs @ 32.75, 269 dismissals
9.Chaminda Vaas 3089 @ 24.32, 355W @ 29.58
10.Joel Garner 672 @ 12.44, 259W @ 20.97
11.Bhagwath Chandrasekhar 242W @ 29.74, runs irrelevant

My side Doesn't have as many superstars as other sides but makes up for it with depth and flexibility.
Ponting is the centerpiece of strong and classy top order, and the batting is effective all the way to 9.
Khan, Garner and Vaas make a strong pace attack, whilst Chandra and Mushtaq ensure that 5th day and spinning tracks will be a batsman's nightmare.
The keeping and and captaincy are the best going around.

All in all I'm very happy with this team

So I need an Indian middle order batsman. VVS is the first one off the top of my head. Will double check though.

I think I'll go ahead and make my pick. Most underrated spinner from Sri Lanka I reckon.

Jayananda Warnaweera.
