Yeah his FC record suggests he could have been one of the all-time great all-rounders, & like Imran good enough to play Tests as a pure batsman or bowler.

Also pretty insane to take 41 wickets @15 in the 7 tests he did play.

RIP.

ARs that can bat top 6/7 and score 100s as well as contribute with the ball are priceless. SA were lucky to produce Goddard, Barlow, Procter, Rice who are all passed on now. Then came McMillan and Kallis.

Sad news. I remember Glenn Turner who played county cricket through the 70's and early 80's rated Proctor's batting ahead of Botham's and he was obviously a top bowler too. Unique style bowling off the wrong foot. Would have been a huge star today. Was a popular figure as coach when South Africa returned to international cricket. RIP.
