It always upset me how bad Prior was in ODIs. But as a Test batsman he was head and shoulders above Buttler for me
I had no idea that Prior was that poor in ODIs. 2010/11 was the first season I followed intently and I remember being confused as to why Steven Davies was in the ODI team, as Prior had batted well in the tests.

Davies was unlucky not to play more ODIs really and in another era would've earned test caps. Kieswetter was also unlucky to get smashed in the face. Something of a forgotten man now.

I remember Bresnan and Kiesweter fondly. Would've flourished in the current setup one feels.

Yeah, Bresnan would have fit very nicely in the current England LOI set up. Not sure about the tests though, felt his bowling took a lot out of him to have a decent career in the longer format.

The fact that you kind of knew Bresnan as a Test cricketer would not last was what made him so enjoyable.
