Sunil Gavaskar and Hannan Sarkar are the only batsman to be out to the first ball of a Test more than once. Both three times. In the case of the latter it was same bowler - Collins from the West Indies.

At least 2 out of those 3 dismissals were LBWs: Collins to Sarkar

Think he's the only one to be out hit wicket in consecutive tests (can't be many who got out hit wicket more than once in general). Pretty sure he must be the only person to get out hit wicket to the first ball in their test career.

Denis Compton was 5 times, Mohinder Amarnath 3 times, and 11 other players twice each.

South African Jackie McGlew took a first class hat trick, although he never did better than a two-fer
The hat trick straddled two innings, I guess?

Adam Gilchrist is, statistically speaking, the greatest T20 bowler ever.

He has the perfect record of taking a wicket with every ball he bowled in the format.

1 ball, 1 wicket.

Asad Shafiq has played the most consecutive tests for Pakistan. Alistair Cook, Allan Border, Sunil Gavaskar, AB De Villiers, Mahela Jayawardene, Brendan McCullum and Gary Sobers hold that record for their respective teams.
Lmao this one's pretty good

fun Rubel stats

Averages 249 against India
Yet to take a wicket against Pakistan after 47 overs
His best figures of 5/166 came against NZ at an economy of nearly 6
If you take out Zimbabwe he has 22 wickets in 26 Tests @ 101
Averages 316 at a strike rate of 498 in drawn matches
Will take any chance to bring these up

IIRC Sarkar was also out first ball of the match in Chaminda Vaas' World Cup hatrick. Not a fan of left-armers it seems.

sounds like a pretty terrible opening batsman tbh

Michael Slater is the only person to score 3 centuries in a test series yet average under 50 during said series, in the 98/99 ashes, where he averaged only 46

nvm, Allan Lamb did it too in the 84 series against West Indies. He actually hit 3 tons yet only 386 runs from 10 digs, averaging 42
