Lefthanders lucky?

I would venture that Providence smiles more on left-handed boxers. Many a southpaw have I seen given the nickname "Lucky Lefty".

State Vice-Captain
Most bowlers are tuned towards bowling at RH batsmen, thereby giving the LH batsmen a slight edge

Agree with Engle. You find less lefties in lower levels, and that is less practice for bowlers.

If left-handers have more luck it's nought but coincidence.

Luck, this is, in the form of let-offs.

As regards batsmen being used to bowling at left-handers, the left-hander can have all the novelty value he wants, if he's not good enough he won't prosper.

Its all to do with the ball being slanted across them. The natural ball from most bowlers (ie RA seam) natually goes across them.

They therefore play and miss more.
