going to nail my colours to the mast here nice and early so when he averages 32 with the ball and 14 with the bat ya can all come back and laugh.

he's the most talented of the current 5 kiwis in the test pace bowling mix, and he will be the best. he has everything he needs - late swing both ways, height and bounce, ever increasing pace (now touching 140kph), good areas - to make it at test level.

he's started later than boult and southee did and nz love not playing so im going to predict just 250 wickets but @ 25 or less and an average of 20 with the bat with at least one ton.

my last hype thread was adam milne iirc so even a test bowling average of 40 will be an improvement over adam milne never playing (he's still only 28 years old believe it or not).

Learn to capitalise proper nouns you lazy ****.

And I certainly think he looks very good. Maybe would have been useful here last summer, though he wasn't bowling as quick then.

Not Terrible
Imagine an era where Phlegms pessimistically says at worst he averages 32 with the bat. That was better than our attack leaders average for a good decade

When I think of NZ cricketers I tend to think of them as discount Aussies. For example, Nathan Astle was a discount Mark Waugh. Scott Stryis was a discount Andrew Symonds.

What about this guy? Discount Chris Green might be giving him too much credit. Maybe a discount Harry Conway.

Discount Shaun Pollock was my first thought, actually. That might be overselling his batting by a level though. What has he done with the willow thus far at FC level? Guy looks like he was plunged out of a martial arts film, very alpha. As a bowler, he's very exciting for reasons Flem outlined, sorta like Cummins.

smashed england but they had a kookaburra so you expect it. i don't expect shaun pollock batting from him at all. it's just nice he doesn't bat like tim and trent regardless of the match situation.

From what I've seen so far he has the makings of a high teens, low 20s number 8. Very solid but not overkill like Polly. Bowling wise he seems similar to him though, doesn't he? Bit taller obv. Just relentless on that slightly back of a length channel, gets good bounce and movement too.

**** he's as tall as Garner apparently. Any information on other appendages?

what i like is the number of bowled and lbw dismissals he gets despite his height. loads of tall guys are just long hop merchants who develop into back of a length bowlers. jamieson is happy to huck it full with a new rock or in conducive conditions.

You got the wrong green there or you expecting Jamieson to go full off-spinner in the future?

yeah wrong Green meant the other one

I'm not trying to insinuate that Jamieson is a chucker

I won’t comment on what he could potentially end up on wicket wise but if he doesn’t average 25 plus with the bat in test cricket I’d be shocked. Obviously he’s had a nice start to test cricket with the bat but this guy can legitimately bat..

He might be my favourite cricketer out the moment outside the original ND trio. Should’ve been one of us back in 2016 if a certain someone had any foresight.
