IMO, Matthew Elliott was the unluckiest of the lost generation of Australian batsmen from the 90s/00s

bro this is everywhere.

you get absolutely sawn off by your mate then the other team decides to treat club seconds like the world cup final and become as deaf as sachin tendulkar when their players smash the leather off it.
Shut up and stop ruining my rancid bait

And get better mates

Talking about the lost generation, here's a bunch who should have/could have played much more than they did post 90

Phil Jaques
Chris Rogers
Brad Hodge
Simon Katich
Darren Lehman
Michael Bevan
Brad Haddin
Ryan Harris
Stuart Clark
Damien Fleming
Stuart MacGill

This could actually be the best side in the world

Both Ryan Harris and Stuart Clark really only played during their peaks though, so you're right that they should have played more, but Australia got the most out of them that they could.

And unfortunately Jaques would have gotten more cricket if his back didn't destroy his career.

Haddin played 66 Tests over a 7 year period. Picking him would be like picking Hussey - yeah it makes sense in theory but he still had a substantial Test career.

True re: Harris (though he still missed heaps of cricket through injury), but Clark from about 2001-05 was a genuinely good bowler. Could easily have played earlier in different circumstances.

Clark in 2001 was nowhere near as good as he was in 2006 though

Haddin is a good one because he missed what probably would have been his best years

still would have been what he was tbh. very good in australia, terrible everywhere else. wasn't he like 29-30 when he took over as well? that's pretty damn perfect for hitting the ground running.

My favorite Rad Haddin moment

He was 30 when he debuted. But he peaked pretty earli. Would have been better off if his career was 25-32 rather than 30-38 like it was.

Harris was only good for a few years anyway

He was an average medium pacer before that
