Ireland have been ‘proactive’ throughout the whole innings irrespective of losing wickets, unfortunately it looks like it’s getting them bowled out 20+ runs short of what they should’ve got

feels like one of those games where one team bosses the first 10 overs each innings but loses the match post drinks in both innings too

He has a notably worse T20I batting record than our current number 9.

On the other hand, he's currently bowling better than him. Strange game innit.
Which is why he should bat at seven. He tends to need to build an innings. When you have Malan above him you don't really have that option as Malan needs time too. Stokes should be your insurance at seven and ideally should just hit from the get-go.

It’s clear this world cup needs a couple of cake-y players.

Root could be an improvement for this side imo, even though Malan plays the same role better.
