Boycott is gold. I also like Mark Nicholas, I'm afraid. I think OTT commentators are pretty hilarious. Nicholas, Martin Crowe and Navjot Sidhu in the same commentary team would be pretty good imo.

I like Chappell a very unbiased commentator. My favourate member of the C9 team is Tubby Taylor though unbiased like Chappell but not as critical. The one I dislike the most is Healy, he is just a cheerleader and should commentate in with pom poms & a skirt. I really wish he was commentating on this Ashes seriesaussie said:

Boycott is the best, if only because of his genuine enthusiam for the game. Other ex-players like Gower and Botham only went into the media as commentators/pundits because cricket is the only thing they know. Neither of them give the impression that they enjoy watching the game.

Healy is annoying, he's almost as biased as Botham. At least Lawry is biased in an amusing way like David Lloyd is, Botham and Healy are just irritating.

You could almoast hear the joy in Chappell's voice when Shoaib ripped through the Aussie top order in the first test last season. The only person who he seems to like in the Aussie team is Warne. He also doesn't like Ian Botham which we agree on. Made for some interesting commentry when they had to commentate together for C9 a few years ago.

I'm a Boycott fan, although I do find his repitition a bit annoying. Gotta laugh hearing the stories about him playing, though - Botham running him out deliberately, etc. I'm suprised Mo Matthews hasn't gone off on a tangent about Boycs, from all reports he's a massive Geoffrey fan...

This thread should be called "Geoff Boycott is a hero". The guys a legend, love listening to his views and especially the banter he has had with Slater this series, they aren't afraid to speak their minds. I wish that Boycott was batting coach sometimes because he talks a lot of sense, but only if "we can afford him" as he puts it!!

yep I like Slats........Richie is past his used-by date too. There's only so much dry sarcasm you can take before it becomes boringly repetitive.

Richie made me laugh so hard the other day when he was talking about Desktop Richie "eating his grain bread sandwiches, which are wonderfully good for you".
