Draft ideas/scheduling thread

I would love to play in a varied order Test Draft. Been way too long since the last ones.
Been meaning to say this. We could either redo a previous draft or check whether there's one that we haven't done yet that doesn't require heaps of research. I remember surname, chronological, number of tests, and batting average drafts. There might be a forwards or backwards version of one of these ideas that we haven't done yet.

Another thing I've been thinking about is a "born in one country, but played for another country" draft. I think it would be quite fun, but the challenging thing is defining countries with the UK and India/Pakistan pre-partition etc.

Weird. I can't find any no. If Tests draft in ascending or descending order; atleast not in title. Same for chronology. The ones I found are batting average and Highest Score.

After seeing the recent breakout T20 League in the West Indies - thinking of doing a draft that takes inspiration from it - perhaps a rule list along the lines

* Players with a Test or FC appearance in the last year
* Max 2 players from one country (might need to be defined more clearly for players who are born in one place, playing in another with potential view to playing for adopted home)
* Max 3 players with more than 20 Test Caps
* Minimum 2 players with 0 Test caps.

A current FC draft is a great idea IMO, to fill the market that @Prince EWS has abandoned. Don't know that it needs as many restrictions though.

Thought process was because of inspiration from the Breakout League allowing room for some top players but also depth of newer players too and some stalwarts who haven't quite made the jump to Tests - James Hildreths of the current generation.

Nationality restriction was with thoughts to ensure it doesn't become too England/India/Australia focused.

Thinking more that I might do a budget draft - with a cap of Test matches. No restrictions re runs/wickets. Gives greater flexibility to participants but also allows players who have performed in FC cricket to have a greater chance of being picked. Perhaps a cap around 500 Test caps and just the first initial restriction of players with a Test or FC appearance in the last year.

The rules have been amended to just be players with a Test or FC appearance in the last year and a maximum of 500 Tests caps across the whole XI - signups thread is open - Current Test/FC draft | CricketWeb Forum
