Draft Game - BBI Mix

Teuton

International Captain
It's a bit inhumane to expect keepers to focus all day behind the stumps and then face-up to the likes of Marshall or Lillee with the new ball at first drop.

I like the idea of Weekes coming in at 6 and thrashing a tired attack during the last session of the day Doug Walters style.

Tate was also a very good tailend batsman and probably better than Akram. A real bowling allrounder.

Nice team Teutonic that effectively bats to 9.

Teutonic XI
Herbert Sutcliffe
Herbie Taylor
Kane Williamson
Wally Hammond
Joe Root
Everton Weekes
Kumar Sangakkara +
Maurice Tate
Wasim Akram c
Anil Kumble
Bob Willis
Good idea with giving Sangakkara a break down at 7. I'd inked him in at 3 from the moment I picked him but given how many great middle order bats I ended up with that is probably an overall improvement.

1. Bill Lawry
2. WG Grace
3. Rahul Dravid
4. Ken Barrington
5. Bob Cowper
6. Andrew Flintoff
7. Ian Healy
8. Peter Pollock
9. Alan Davidson
10. Muttiah Muralitharan
11. Allan Donald

I made some pretty big mistakes tactically throughout the draft, not a massive fan of my side.
You may have the best 5-man bowling attack which is a plus

International Vice-Captain
Re the comments about sides batting deep in this draft: I was wondering what the best team you could pick that meets the criteria, given a free rein, and came up with

Jack Hobbs (1)
Gordon Greenidge (0)
Wally Hammond (5)
Sachin Tendulkar (3)
Viv Richards (2)
Ted Dexter (4)
Garry Sobers (6)
Adam Gilchrist (nb)
Keith Miller (7)
Imran Khan (8)
Richard Hadlee (9)

which bats pretty deep, though you might want to strengthen the bowling...

Great draft, by the way!

Whatever it takes!!!
Honest Hunks

Graham Gooch
Sanath Jayasuriya (vc)
Hashim Amla
Alvin Kallicharan
David Hookes
Keith Miller (c)
Angelo Matthews
Tony Greig
Les Ames (wk)
Bill Johnston
George Lohmann

What is the point of a draft if you cant have some fun with it? Hookesy was an under rated Chinaman bowler and will complement Jayasuriya, Johnston and Root's spin on turning tracks. On seamers and bouncy conditions, the bowling and batting line ups will be a match for anyone and they will bat the opposition out and then steal wickets with innocuous looking spin bowlers, just like Australia did at Pune. :p
